Providing you attained enough [Medb LP] then she invites you to the funeral...all becomes clear there...Flicking through the comments I've been seeing mentions of the fact that Finn was Mebd's daughter. I completely missed this in the game. Can someone please point me at the scene I should be looking at for this revelation?

To expand in this, at the funeral, Medb says, "Namaari, min ethiram ainu," which translates to "Farewell, my beloved daughter."Providing you attained enough [Medb LP] then she invites you to the funeral...all becomes clear there...
I didn't want to completely spoon feed people...may as well play it for them at that point. To expand in this, at the funeral, Medb says, "Namaari, min ethiram ainu," which translates to "Farewell, my beloved daughter."
Yeah, I wouldn't have normally bothered, but figured it might be worthwhile since there's some translation involved. (And I only know what "ethiram" means by looking at the comments in the script because it's not used anywhere else. )I didn't want to completely spoon feed people...may as well play it for them at that point.
I actually saw the funeral on my first PT of the update and still missed it or at least forgot till saw someone talk about itProviding you attained enough [Medb LP] then she invites you to the funeral...all becomes clear there...
But for me it complicates things because my loyalty so far is completely with the Alfar, at least when it comes to the Templars and I'll 'bend the knee' to Medb but I have a hard time seeing her as a Li. It's not that she's a "bitch" ... more like aloof and doesn't display emotion much. She's also something like 2000 years old, so wtf are we going to talk about? It seems like every conversation would be her teaching MC about something and him taking notes. And now she is the (deceased) best girl's mom and the idea of pursuing a romantic relationship seems a little Jerry Springer.Yeah, I wouldn't have normally bothered, but figured it might be worthwhile since there's some translation involved. You were probably still too traumatised from the lack of head pats and hand holding Des, is completely understandable.I actually saw the funeral on my first PT of the update and still missed it or at least forgot till saw someone talk about it
it doesn't really, at least not directly from the in-game language, unless you tried to to memorize all alfar words, then some of what being said makes sense, but honestly I'm too lazy to learn a fictional language. The script does have the translation, but your average player won't look at that.Providing you attained enough [Medb LP] then she invites you to the funeral...all becomes clear there...
if we put this up to a poll you'd realize how wrong you are, majority of players don't play that kind of attention to details like that, especially when those details aren't in englishI would argue that if you are paying attention, it's not overly difficult to figure out (providng you actually saw the scene, which is far easier to trigger now than it was when Ch5 first released).
yeah without seeing what the meaning of X word is id probably never figure out even if im given clues. Even if I am told what it means if I only saw it one time when there is alot of story going easy to overlook something like that at least it was for me.if we put this up to a poll you'd realize how wrong you are, majority of players don't play that kind of attention to details like that, especially when those details aren't in english
I admittedly spent way more time than most would trying to figure out their language. I was able to figure out "Farewell, my ??? daughter" from previous info and context, but did have to look up the last word since it's not used anywhere else.it doesn't really, at least not directly from the in-game language, unless you tried to to memorize all alfar words, then some of what being said makes sense, but honestly I'm too lazy to learn a fictional language. Then I would advise people to pay more attention then, given Medb explains what ainu means to the MC earlier in the story You are correct though, I'm perhaps (stupidly I guess) giving the average AVN 'player' far too much credit.if we put this up to a poll you'd realize how wrong you are, majority of players don't play that kind of attention to details like that, especially when those details aren't in english
To both (and everyone else?)...the exact same sentence is used for her father....yeah without seeing what the meaning of X word is id probably never figure out even if im given clues. Honestly if it was explained then I probably 100% missed putting 2 and 2 together because of Fin getting killed. As at that point I was thinking of the story of everything and not the meaning behind Elven words. Like I saw she said some words but I didn't even think for a moment what they meant. I was like okay cool some words in another language, was probably there to show their culture a bit more and probably meant farewell or goodbye and looks alot better to use their language in that moment. Then I would advise people to pay more attention then, given Medb explains what ainu means to the MC earlier in the story You are correct though, I'm perhaps (stupidly I guess) giving the average AVN 'player' far too much credit.

Now unless you were really not paying attention, you cannot miss Ailill is her father nor that Medb explains what ainu means earlier...so why would Mab say the exact same sentence for Medb aswell?....*shrugs*
Technically, Ailill doesn't say the line I quoted, just Medb. However, Mab says both "Ainu hen Ailill" and "Ainu hen Mebd" earlier in the ceremony, which is major clue #1.Then I would advise people to pay more attention then, given Medb explains what ainu means to the MC earlier in the story You are correct though, I'm perhaps (stupidly I guess) giving the average AVN 'player' far too much credit.

She also confirms that Adar is father when the MC questions this...Medb teaches us that "ainu" is "daughter".
