It hasn't been mentioned in quite a while, so I'll just mention that it seems that Null's primary power isn't Nullification; it's directed evolution.

Never saw this before while reading here (i've been lurking in the comments for months before i talked) but i also assumed it was something like that. I was pretty convinced of it when Null doesn't get any power like Jean's after getting almost evaporated, since at no point does he go "damn i wish i had a power like Jean" and instead at that point he is just thinking of stopping/help/saving her.

Which makes me assume that him thinking "damn, i want that" is necessary for it to actually happen and MAYBE being injured and/or also being in a dangerous/stressful situation for it to work, i certainly dont think he is gonna get telekinesis just cuz he dropped the tv remote and it flew far away and he doesnt wanna get up from the couch to get it and he happens to think "damn wish i had telekinesis"

Wants a... Rogue-like evolution.;)

If we want to get "kotor 2" with this and use narrative to explain gameplay, we could argue that his "mutant abilities" tab at level up is a minor version of his power since he can get things like very limited x-ray and minor pheromone control. Though these are mostly just fun gameplay perks.

Also he gets the ability to unlock his stamina upgrades right after he copies Laura's power. It's also noted in dialogue that he has super endurance now as part of his regen during training sessions after Juggernaut.

It's very likely that his power is some kind of absorption that nullifies other powers in the process because his body "adapts"—like All for One from BNHA combined with Darwin, or more simply, a variant of Rogue's power that doesn't drain energy and only give them a strange feeling of discomfort ( I don't remember if the power have other side effect on other people directly)

Maybe. But then why didn't he absorb them sooner? Or I suppose activate them. And why not absorb Jean's as well? And how come each power manifested in the exact same way?
If he did absorb Jean's power, then why not activate? Because he didn't will it to? If he does absorb power as opposed to directing it to happen, then it seems that it still requires him to will it to manifest at some level.

Because if it was just adaption, then telekinesis and telepathy would have been handy against Juggy or the mob.

Perhaps because of the bond with the person, writers often use that thing to justify the activation as a mental unlocking process.
Due stress situations, the only problem is Null' skills, he can get more powers with the skill points, so maybe you're right about the evolution
