The name "The Patriarch" might give me hints to a harem, perhaps even bdsm.... but to expect femdom i would expect a title like "The Matriarch".... patriarchal societies really aren't known for femdom or even equal rights for women....
Agreed! Some people waste so much of their time complaining about content that is, or is not in a game rather than just moving along and finding a game that meets their needs.

I considered given players the option to change a few names in my game, but seeing how so many people put their own name and then get too closely attached to the character, I think I'll leave that option out.

Hold on, making some content optional is not much to do, so if it helps some player, then why not.
A patriarch might be called "father" like in roman cathlic church or greek ortodox church and such but that doesn't mean every father is a patriarch.... The patriarch is the head of a patriarchal society, he rules all men; women usually don't count except for "breeding purposes"...
I'm always amazed too. I would have never guessed so many people were weirdly obsessed with that if it wasn't for this website. Which is rather counterintuitive if you consider the content of other kinds of porn (videos, movies, comics, hentai...), I guess it's not the same public.
I understand the structure of a Patriarchal society very well. I have no issues with your description. In this case, the use of "Patriarch" may not be in the classical context. In the conversations of the girls in the story, the one called "mother" states "But only if it pleases Father. I only do his bidding." That doesn't lead me to believe that "Father" is subservient (or just a breeder) to "Mother". I guess we'll see how the story unfolds as to who wields the power.
