My thoughts on playing through this for the first time with this new version are as follows.
Simply speaking, I like it!
There is a natural progression to the story. While it may be following some cliché elements in its approach, it is a story being constructed to reflect the values of love, friendship and heroism, which are very commonly covered elements so one must bear that in mind whilst playing. It is engaging, interesting and incorporates a universe that is relatively vast and has the potential to further expand with ease.
Characters themselves have interesting personalities. None of the key characters display repetitive features, which to me signals good writing and forethought before constructing them. There are features which to me appear out of place but that is expected if this is the developers first foray into story telling.
The designs of characters are visually pleasing. Yes I'm not a fan of the ginormous breasts but they don't out me off enough to stop playing.
In terms of flaws, there are a few things to point out. The key flaw I would point out is the lack of Mc's spine. Whilst I understand it is to reflect his lack of confidence in general, he is literally being pushed around like your standard errand boy. He stutters while making comments. His white knight features are through the roof. It makes empathizing with him very difficult in many situations. A key example being when his supposed best friend knees him in his nads. I don't care what species you belong to, let alone gender, if you knee me in my nads, you'll get a f**king fist to the face. Instead, the Mc fails to even register his displeasure in a strong manner. That is really off putting. Being a nice guy is okay. Being a pushover isn't. I really hope moving forward the Mc will be written with more backbone and ability to call out cunt moves would be incorporated.
I had a similar reaction to the Isabella/Carter first interaction with her coming across like an absolute molester. It seems due to feedback, the option to call her out was added which is the right call so very positive to see the developer has taken feedback on board.
In conclusion, I found the game engaging, if somewhat lacking in certain areas. I will look forward to how it progresses and really hope the developer will complete his project to bring about a solid game.
Cheers Dev!
