Now I wanted to give advice to get more fit, from personal expirience: I used to run 5k every other day and do push ups (at first I was able to do 1 push up, then 2, then 3,, its very gradual and doesnt happen fast, but its faster than you think, within two weeks I could do 4 sets of 10 push ups). I think its more difficult to build muscle if you are a woman, but the running part will still help, I see a lot of women in the park that run more than me.
Losing weight is more difficult but doable, I eat only once a day, usually its whatever I used to eat before but in smaller portions. Eating slower will make you feel full so you won't eat as much.
If you know someone who also wants to get fit, ask them to come with you, I always go with my best friend, and I'm almost sure I wouldn't start doing it if he didnt push me.
Dont go to a gym, there is a bad atmosphere there that I personally dont like, I don't like to run on the treadmill at all, find a park were a lot of people go and start your excercises.
Also, since its summer, you should go for a swim on top of your usual running.
