I mean, there is a certain charm to his everything-and-the-kitchen-sink approach: A first-time dev who follows his enthusiasms and is willing to experiment and throw in new systems as they strike him: Money, machismo, lust, fatigue, the phone and calendar, that kink survey that didn't go anywhere, and now a miniature Kinsey scale for how kinky you want the game.He just likes to make things even more complicated than they were doesn't he....
I don't think those systems have done much good for the game broadly speaking and a few of them now seem vestigial, but I can see how they keep the dev's life interesting.
A simple choice-driven VN with logical branching would definitely be cleaner, sure.
