That happens by player decision. There are many games where all LIs are rejectable. That doesn't mean they're "optional".

It would explain why most devs write like first graders. They don't do any prep work.
Then their writing and characters feels shallow and the story empty.
That's why if you're a smart dev you write the story and characters FIRST then you get to the coding and the rest.

What's even worse is the devs who only have an idea of what they want to happen with some characters, but let "Patreon Bucks" dictate events.

That's exactly what optional means. As in, you have the option of pursuing them, as opposed to you being compelled to pursue them.
The reason in my eyes why the whole ntr definition thing/loud crowd of complainers (or normal people non-cucks from their eyes) is so pernicious is it forces every avn to be these stale flat worlds with no nuance or depth.
One might say: "But PGJ, what does nuance or depth have to do with possibly watching a girl take other dick?" It's a reasonable question, but one needs to keep in mind 1) The real world has tons of interweaving relationships, this is the default - people get married and divorced, they make up and break up, they maintain boundaries and break boundaries, and 2), porn games in general tend provide visual representations of intimate occurrences rather than just describing them.
When you put 1 & 2 together, this means any porn game depicting something at all resembling real life is going to have elements the ntr screamers object to. The total lack of these elements makes games feel linear and boring.

No he was using examples of other english loan-words from other languages - like "macho" from spanish or "verboten" from german.
Except we DO have our own words for that stuff. netori and netorase aren't used because there are no english words to describe the same, they're used because as I theorized before a bulk of the avn community is still anime obsessed.
Anyways, the other guy is right this is a silly side tangent, the far bigger issues with "The Roommate" are the lack of properly functioning branches, conditions remembering prior choices, and overall progression.

Yes, exactly, and another one of the bigger issues is that the Fan's of that branches, aren't really helping, in constantly bashing at each other (including me of course).
The project is very ambitious and is quite good implemented so far, the main reason it keeps my interest is because of the variety of options it has.
This comes with longer development times for each branch, up till now, Togs did a great job in polishing and tweaking it.
every time I play I have to remind myself that.
regarding the prior choices, the only way I see to help in the development is to poining it out, in a "F95" friendly tone.

It should actually be impossible to not have any candidates (as you actually have two too many). So the next question is, are using Jokers, Emelex's and whichever you are using, are they for the current version of the VN?
