Chapter 2 development status. [v0.3] #7.




Hello everyone.

This week I spent most of my time working on the coding part, because after a long day at work I had no desire to pose at all and it came out very badly, the shots seemed as bad as possible. I faced a similar thing during the development of the first episode, then I took a little break from posing and it helped. Anyway, I have 982 renders ready now, with about 20 in the queue.

My plan this morning was to spend more time at Daz this night, but I have a close friend coming over who I haven't seen in a very long time, so I'll have to postpone that plan until the next night.

I got someone who is testing the game from start to finish. Thanks to him and his study of every bit of the game, we were able to find some things in the game that need to be fixed. (Regarding the story.) I'm currently working on a part of the game that doesn't move the story forward, but adds variation to the walkthrough depending on your choices. Your walkthrough won't just change character lines, but will completely change the scene and where it takes place. I made some short animations (test versions) and it kinda turned out not too bad, even better than I thought it would. But still I don't want to add a bad animation to the episode.

Hello everyone.

I want to start right away about what's going on with the game right now and what stage of development it's in. At the moment I have about 60% of the update ready and it's already bigger than the first episode. The finished renders in the update are 1134, the renders in the first episode are 1148. I'm still picking up the music for the episode, which is copyright free, this is good to see because it's already one less problem if I decide to release the game on Steam. Why is one less problem and what other problems are there? I plan to use licensed car brands in the game and in the future cars will appear very often in the game. (Already in this update you will notice this.)

Now to other news:

As you might have noticed, after my vacation I'm back to my normal development mode..... It's a mode where I have very little free time and I try to spend almost every free minute on development (if I'm not completely tired), but now I have a few more things going on in my life that I won't tell you about, because we're talking about development here. I just want to keep you informed that I won't be able to work on the game anytime soon, and if I do, it will be even slower than it is now. That doesn't mean I'll abandon development or anything like that, no, it means I'll be releasing an update a little later than planned. That's it for me for now. A few previews will follow below.

As always guys, thanks to everyone who has been with me from the beginning and everyone who is with me now, I really appreciate it.

Hello everyone,

I delayed the release of this post by a week because I didn't have much to share. Now, however, I have some news for you, so let's get into it.

I'd like to talk a bit about what I've been up to lately, the progress that's been made, and a few things about the characters.

If you're only interested in render counts, I won't keep you waiting; currently, there are 1213 renders.

I've completed all changes for the characters currently in focus: Ashley, Laura, Mona, Vincent, and Jenny. I've tried my best to maintain their original appearances and make them fit seamlessly into the game without having to start from scratch. Yes, it was entirely my mistake, but I'm learning from it.

I also have character models prepared for those you have yet to meet. I can't say when they'll appear to maintain some intrigue. Nonetheless, their delayed introduction gives me the opportunity to reconsider their designs, and if I want to make any changes, I can do so before they're introduced to the plot.

As you may know, the game's prologue has four different paths that don't affect the first episode much (except for dialogues in one scene), unlike the second episode. I won't tell you what your choices influence, but this complexity has taken a lot of time to develop for the second episode, adding a dependency on prologue choices.

I just need to finalize all these paths since the visual part is ready, and mostly what's left is music, sound, and not getting lost in the text.

My tester (a master of his craft and a very responsible person) is working on checking all paths and the entire game. Thanks to him, we've found errors in renders, text for the second episode, and some errors in the first that need fixing. Currently, this task isn't a top priority since I need to speed up the creation of the visual part, and I'm still sorting out my affairs in real life. There aren't many errors, and fixing them won't take much time.

Let me tell you a bit about animations in the game.

I'll start working on them soon, and I'll have someone to help me, which is very pleasing. I made test versions without the help of others, and it wasn't terribly awful, but it's better you didn't see it... So animations will appear in the second episode, and animation will be added to the first in the scene with Jenny. Perhaps I'll have to rework the end of this scene, or maybe I'll manage to fit the animation exactly where I envision it.

The music issue bothers me the least because there are options for using various music without copyright, which fits well into different game scenes. The first episode used little music, and much of it was silent, whereas the second episode uses music much more frequently. So I'll add music and more different sounds to the first episode to make it less muted.

Initially, I wanted to share with you an approximate release date for the episode, but I revisited some things, added a few scenes that shouldn't have been in this episode at all, and for now, I can't give you an approximate date. If initially, I expected the episode to have about 1400-1500 renders, now I'm sure there will be more. For now, I plan to release the episode in the summer, but don't forget that it can only be released after a full translation into English, which is no longer up to me.

There are many letters here, and I hope I've shared enough information with you so you can understand where the second episode stands. I'll leave you with a few previews below.

Hello, everyone.

I'm living out of my house for now and it's going to be like that for a while. But my PC is near me, so I have the opportunity to do development and that's a good thing.

Since the last log I've been busy arranging sounds and music in the prologue and first episode. So far, the prologue and first episode are completely done in terms of music and sounds (maybe I'll add some more if I accidentally missed some places)and after a while I'll start doing the same for the second episode. It won't take long, as I'm transferring the game to code in parallel with the rendering, so the bulk of the music is already there and it will be left to arrange the sounds.

Right now I'm working on the penultimate big scene in the game (there will be another big scene in the final episode), I need to create about 100-150 renders for it. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and without too many problems.

I also have a few romantic animations ready, each using about 90-100 frames each. I've already created about 500 frames of animations that won't be used, but have served well as test versions. Another small romantic animation is currently being rendered.

I made the decision to finish all the image rendering work and only then go back to work on the obscene animations, as that's the hardest thing for me at the moment and I didn't want to waste time on it right now. I've redone some of the scenes in the game a bit, I stopped liking the way they looked. I'll attach the variations of the changes to you in the preview for comparison. The old version is the first image, the new version is the second image. And I'll attach one image as a separate preview.

I now have 1322 renders ready, of which 1315 have already been inserted into the code and processed.
