I've been following the new game's development, and what I can guess is no, they are not related... I mean, the theme of the other game is eastern medieval setting, with monsters and things, the clothes are also traditional, not as futuristic as this... So, I guess it's not related...

If you DPS hard enough and transform at the right time you should be able to kill the succubus without the detour, or at least I managed it.
Actually her glossary entry gives you a hint on the parasite thing and it's not too hard to brute force the fight if you save up gain and use the 20 cost swift form sword skill that hits 5 times.
I was talking about Mission Mermaiden on MTL. This game isn't MTL and its 99% translated because no one is going to translate all the geology stuff in the glossary.
You only get the succubus glossary either after you lose to her or after you beat her so the information about her hating parasites falls under "Useless Marco" for not bringing this up before or during battle. IDK why its the only boss in this game where Marco doesn't bother giving a hint in some shape or form.
The game already has like 15 save files upon downloading the game. A few of them are before the parasite scene/succubus boss battle. And there's a folder for a full save where you won't have to work to get any of the h-scenes.
