Just from a glance it reminds me of a similar top-down game where you played as a girl in a spacesuit, and tentacles wanted to invade her spacesuit.

The purple pips at the top left of the UI are (i'm assuming) your health/lives.

They seem to go down sometimes when the heroine orgasms, but not every time.
Does anyone know how they work?

i did, i even watched a youtube video where the player had an option to transform during battle whereas i dont.

Pretty sure you can only transform during battle. Outside of battle you can change your battle style/mode.

Yeah i wasnt able to transform during battle either, the option wasnt even there for me where it was for everyone else

I'm in the first dungeon area in the mine, and i'm lost and can't figure out how to proceed. is there a walkthrough for this?

i've broken the first pillar. I've been stopped at the ice pillar no sweat... I found the cliff with the drill. no sweat. then i went into the room with the orb, blocked by the energy barriers which say "kill the monsters in the area to drop the barriers" so I did that. the barriers did not drop. i circled the dungeon 3-4 times, and killed everything. the barriers did not drop. wasn't able to find a place to collect fire or ice power, or a place to use the drill....

hard progression stop.

help a gamer out? T_T
