I think it´s a great start. Thanks for your work and sharing it with us. As already mentioned the white text with the light background is really hard to read. I hope you´ll find a way to darke the textbox.
I´m looking forward to the next update.

Hi and thank you. I updated the font and darkened the text box this evening so it should be a bit clearer now.

I - personally - dislike textboxes very much, so for me just the outlined font works the best.

Interesting game. Enjoying it so far.

Two suggestions for the developer:
1. The game needs sound. Sounds would amplify/complement an already engaging story.
2. As stated by others, the font is very hard to read particularly when the background image is lighter. Needs to be fixed.

I also hope to see old Joe get some action with Suzanne. He's earned it. ;)

Please no...
It's not something I'm hoping to see...
Not against the idea of the old artist Jay getting a little action (not necessarily sex but maybe if Jean and Bob get involved), but let's not do so because he's "earned" it, but because Suzanne and Bob really want to.
I like that this story has Suzanne and Bob being very selective, careful, and not just wanting her to screw every man that finds her attractive...

I could see a scene where Suzanne is ok with Jay maybe getting off while she poses or something, she's turned on by the exhibitionism. Just not interested in seeing old dude sex in yet another "sharing/swinging" story... Won't hold it against the dev if that's where this goes, just not in my list of things I really want to see in this story...

Hi and thank you. That's a rare thing, a Dev being asked to slow down, but I understand your point. The Three Panels was always intended to be a short three part story, with the potential for another series following the adventures of our happy couple further on. I also have two other projects that are awaiting the completion of the 3P for me to work on. As to pregnancy, no, at least not in this series but who knows if 3P proves popular enough for me to do series 2, "A Trip Up North".

Thanks, it looks great. Now remembering my coding skills are virtually nil how do I achieve it? I presume I'd be mucking about in the dreaded GUI file. I am not afraid to ask for help.

here's a sample file with the start of your script.rpy and how to add outlines.

"who_color" is the name color, just put in a 6 digit hex for whatever color you want there. The outline thickness is specified by the who_outlines=[ (3, "#000000") ] field; in this example it's 3 for the character names and 2 for the actual spoken text. The color is also specified for the outlines in the same way, in this case i set it to black, #000000.

(you could also use "what_color" to change the color of the spoken text)

I assume the developer is not a native English speaker, and I am curious about the original language in which the text was initially written. Because it looks like a machine translation from the language, in which sentence structure is completely different from the one in English.

The Dev (that's me) is a genuine English speaker (have been all my life) and as much as possible I try to use colloquialisms to imitate real conversations, rather than grammatically correct English. The joy of our language is that it is flexible and can mold itself to be used by rappers in Detroit, Indigenous Rangers in Australia and Britain's Poet Laureate. There is no real governing body for the language. The editors of the OED and professors at Oxford and Cambridge may express an opinion, but English is a living language (otherwise we would be still saying "prithee this and prithee thou"). Conversational English is unlikely to be grammatically correct as people will use slang. If you travel across the UK you will find different words and different accents and different grammar depending on the region. A farmer from Somerset (a Janner) will often struggle to understand a dockworker from Newcastle ( a Geordie) and vise versa. The Royal Navy has amassed enough terms to warrant its own dictionary for 'Jack speak". The upshot of which is that your assumption is misplaced. I do not and have not used AI (nor would I do so) and the grammatically relaxed language used comes entirely from my own British head. In the Three Panels 'Bob' is a West Countryman who served in the Royal Marines, 'Suzanne' a home counties girl, Jay Canadian, Jean from Dorset and Rishi upper class home counties with a slice of Anglo Indian thrown in for good measure. Brian is from Northern Ireland and I've tried to imitate his accent but in real life its virtually incomprehensible to anyone from elsewhere. This may cause some confusion amongst non-English readers but I'm telling a story, not writing a report. Hope that explains things.

No offense, but on this site, "native English" speaker means an American English speaker. I'm not being condescending; it's just a numbers thing. By that, I mean run-of-the-mill Conversational English, kind of the generic version that means a person from a non-English-speaking country who has English as a second language typically mandatory taught in schools worldwide can understand the game they are playing. British English is a minor category of English speaking.
All counties have regional dialects.
The complaints about the dialogue are justified, IMO. The script contains many misspelled words, and punctuation is also pretty poor. Punctuation plays a big part in reading comprehension. It affects the reader's comprehension if it's there but not all there.

I played most of the game and found it enjoyable. I liked how the swinging aspect was not rushed. I am going to finish it. ;)

I take your point and I have no doubt you are correct in many ways, but I spell using English spelling rather than American (Jeez I hate American spellcheckers), We may be the minority but just because you have the numbers doesn't mean you're right. Having said that point noted and I shall try to improve (but I'm still not writing American English!). Thank you for your kind words regarding the game as a whole.

I'm not saying I'm right. It's the way it is. IMO, US versus EU English spelling is lame. Phonically, it sounds pretty much the same. It's the slang/regional words that give the story its flavor. The spellchecker I use has an EU spelling function.
I wish you much success in your game.

As a fun side note, check out this word's meaning.
hypoglycemia

Cheers mate ;)
