why is it always the good games who gets abandoned. Theres so few of these kinds of games. It feels like every new game is focused on gameplay and the grind of life. Like to get to the good parts you need to grind hours of endless gameplay. But here you can do what you came to do and that's really amazing. No wait, just a couple clicks. And the sex is not just 2 sentences, it feels real and immersive. Reminds me of teraurge or kobold adventures. Really hope they return, this is something special for sure. A gem of the porn world.

Sounds like you're more interested in multiple choice CYOA styled visual novels rather than games with gameplay elements.

There are a few of those, like Transfigure.
I don't think there are many that are complete though.

The problem with these types of games is the amount of additional work each branching path introduces. You could tell right from the start this dev was creating an ambitious project. And the bigger the mountain, the higher the likelihood they're going to give up on it

Sadly true.
I was thinking about this game how it is going, so I searched explicitly for it, just to found it abandoned DUH :(

I learned the hard way.
I had to cancel a lot of planned branches, and honestly my current game is way more work than I expected just handling the existing branches. Even something as simple as "corruption" warrants a partial or full rewrite of some scenes.
