Sometimes a solid round of compression and optimization can do wonders for download size. Any hack can throw out a file that takes up 7+ gigs of disk space. Look at how ridiculous modern game downloads are. 150GB for the latest Call of Duty? Is this a joke? Glad I stopped playing after Black Ops 2.

The new COD is also running at Ultra 4k resolution with some of the most incredibly detailed texture mapping we've seen. As resolutions continue to go up, file sizes will continue to balloon.

Anyone have an idea how long it'll take before the Linux version is updated? (Yes, I know I could run the Win version in 'wine' - - but no thanks.)

Doom Eternal came with full on 8k options, it was a big deal because the 3090 was basically the first single card solution that could play that at a reasonable fps. Now people are revisiting it with the 4090. Its install size is like 70-80gb

The game also is famous for running amazingly well on even ancient hardware, and what is something you hear almost every big techtuber say when they use it to benchmark a part or setup? "It still blows me away how well they optimized this."

I prefer that personally. I don't mind a good "porn" game, but when I'm in the mood for a good storyline, I don't want to be 5 minutes into the game and already screwing everyone already, I want to work for it, I want to build up those relationships. This is now the third game I've come across that's had "almost" the perfect pacing. I say almost only because I did kinda want to see a little more action with Nina, but alas I shall take my time for perfection heh.
