Unity take more resources than Renpy Unity less cross-platform more hard to localize(on RenPy you can get translates for free by volunteers) and modding. Unity good for mini-games, grindfest, money milking, coin mining, abandonware. there handreds finished renpygames and only few - on other engines

Looking at this game, I fully expect this to be the only update ever. Before the development is scrapped and these people give up entirely.

God, I hope I'm wrong though, and please don't let this game die.

There are so many 0.1 and first chapter games on this site, the people making this one have already set up their own Discord and Patreon - along with 1 subscriber. (Despite the whole Patreon frowning on the ole 'familiar' content, so like good luck to these guys avoiding any fuckery around having to decommission it)

Ultimately though it's much like anything, it takes time - look at NLT, he was making webcomics for years, then games, and has been developing for such a long time. The work that is put in too is incredible, with updates like clockwork! That is reliable, and a good base of proven work and content! So of COURSE people are going to invest their 1-10 dollars a month happily on the development!

Even dev's that update once every 6-12 months - if the content and quality is there, along with delivery of some substance and content... then you feel like it isn't just a cash grab. These devs have already set up $20 tier monthly payments... which is insane, for the concept/content they actually have.

Even the comments from the devs here, "This release is less about polishing and more about getting a feel for how people feel about the story and stuff". My cynical mind immediately translates that as "we want to see if we can make money off this with no content" to see if they then will bother putting in the concerted effort to actually make *something*. If it's just a hobby, then admit it. If you want to give something a real go - then put the effort and work in. Quality is what people want, and if you can deliver that RELIABLY, then you'll succeed. There are plenty of games out there already with shit quality and half-assed stories, and they haven't made it.

The money and people will come when you have the content, not the other way around. You cannot have your cake and expect to eat it also.

You see these devs just come along and expect to take a running jump at the ladder of success with no content, no story, no gameplay and no experience.

Just... I hope this isn't another abandoned 0.1 game along with the thousands of others on this site. Hopefully this team stick it out, find their groove and make something that isn't a carbon copy of all the other shit out there - and the subscribers will come with time.

First of all it was a great review of the game but I think you judged us so quickly so I want to mention some important notes:

1. Me and Froghop333 have jobs and families so we doing this as a hobbie I cannot deny that we want to succeed, but we are not in a hurry.
2. We have a good and slow progression story
3. Regarding the sentence written in the developer notes, I think you misunderstood it, as we have seen many games in their early stages (I can give you examples) and the comments on them were so bad that I think that the developer killed himself what is meant by this sentence is that we want constructive criticism, we know that we did not do something very cool, but it is not bad either.

The sister and mother are very hot, I hope we can get rid of the dad later. An option to hide text would also be useful. Also, the song in the computer is a bit loud.

Good luck with the game, I will look forward to more updates :)(y)

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to respond. I appreciate the time taken to even respond to someone like me, playing a 0.1 version (so obviously incomplete and not a final product) - and honestly I like what is here already.

Just to reply - the criticism is my opinion, of course! So it can be left just as my opinion. Also, I am massively jaded, and that's probably more aligned to the negative experience with games starting up (much like this one) then disappearing! So not your fault at all, and not probably deserved for me to be harsh on your game/on your part. It can be difficult not to be instantly judgmental, which I immediately leapt to.

Good on you for taking the plunge and making what is here so far, and creating something that is your own.

But, we all do have families and responsibilities, jobs, partners, etc. Nobody doesn't! Unless you're like... an orphan with no surviving family and like... you lived in Antarctica with penguins and shit.

Just be honest, it's HARD to develop and create! Definitely! It's hard to commit to anything and complete it! That's life.

This has promise, and the game has some x-factor that I will await and watch for development with great interest! You are onto something - and I wish you the best luck and success as such.

Don't let an instant lack of patreon success stop you from developing, was more my angle here! It makes me think of GRasputin making his HTML game. Arguably it was the most popular HTML game on this site, and was well made, I guess if you like that kind of thing.

Then, his interest waned, and he just came forward and stated that as he wasn't pulling enough patreon money he was giving up on development (after, interestingly, wasting money on commissioning some swedish porn star to show her tits being jizzed on whilst holding a phone with his game logo on it - which was SUPER weird.)

But I digress. I hope you succeed and have many successful years of development ahead!

Peace!

I swear...I get why harem has its appeal, but I think its just a way to cut back on being able to play more of the game...not only does it feel more realistic to pursue one relationship and be rewarded for it, but you get to do the story in other ways and its like a whole new game because of the route switch... Harem only games are just kinda lazy...
All depends on how much one has to work to obtain and maintain the harem. Best one is when the girls don't know they are sharing the MC. Which bring up it's own plot twists and can be fun or a headache for the dev whom is creating the paths ways. However I do agree and like being able to walk down each romance path with the different female npcs. Also, not to offend anyone, I really am discussed with same-sex B.S. and NTR crap. Would like to see the work around or a way to by pass those scenes.
Unity works fine for me and the game looks very nice. The story line could use some polishing and spell checks. However, The prior is just a personnel preferance and again it's not to upset anyone although it may. If I am sorry your feathers got ruffled, I rather live than burn. Ya, ya I know just being here is playing with fire, but what can I say I am a sinner, but a humble one. roflao.

Change the nasty crap noise or provide a way to silence the shit noise. Also can you provide a way for the player to change the mc name?

You can mute music in settings menu. I will provide a way to change all character names in the future update

Looks promising man, good luck with launch. I will wait for an incest patch because it's too immersion-braking for me at the moment.

Hey guys maybe I am just blind but I can't seem to find an option for windowed mode.
Or is there a key command for it? If there isn't, it desperately needs to be added
in future releases.

On the whole rather off-topic of how to become established and make money:

I think here are different routes. Like a shorter and smaller but completed VN as a first release.
Smaller updates but released in higher frequency. A big and well polished first release
followed by smaller updates. Oh and REGULAR updates. Don't matter if they
are every 2 month or bi-weekly or on certain promised date. Just gotta be regular.

But overall consistency is key I believe. That and doing you're thing.
If you change focus or key elements too much or too drastically it will annoy folks.
Meaning if you are not doing your thing but what you think folks might like and support
it's easy to get get lost and get torn between paytron polls where different folks naturally
want different things.

And if you are blinded by figures like those on a few well establisched devs's paytron pages
than you prolly won't make it longterm, coz you're in it for the wrong reason.

Edit: So turns out I am indeed blind. Found the option for window mode but the window isn't scaleable. Or I am stoopid again.

The VN itself is a very good first release. Albeit a short one.
The renders got a bit of grain to them but I am not sure
if that's due to playing in full window mode and not in a smaller window.
The charcter models look quite nice. And I like the roommate.
The english could use some polishing but I'd say it's ok. ( But since I'm no native speaker either, who am I to judge.)
Can't say much about the story yet. We gotta wait for some updates.

So to sum it up: It's all around very decent but I'd say still in a too early state
to cast any verdict at all but I am looking forward for future updates.

Haven't tried the game yet but man are those some lovely renders! I also like that dad character looking like he falls into the white-collared, drinking beer after work parent. Don't usually see that in games. Even if his role is small I enjoy the change from the usual.

Hi, Unity is more powerful than Renpy and it has more features than Renpy. Currently I won't change it but I might make another renpy version at the far future

Its your game, but me and other tell you at the beginning to change that to RenPy, there is nothing cant done in RenPy for VNs, and Renpy is more user friendly by faaaar than unity, but at the end its your decision,
and if you want you can make a poll in this topic.
