First of all it was a great review of the game but I think you judged us so quickly so I want to mention some important notes:
1. Me and Froghop333 have jobs and families so we doing this as a hobbie I cannot deny that we want to succeed, but we are not in a hurry.
2. We have a good and slow progression story
3. Regarding the sentence written in the developer notes, I think you misunderstood it, as we have seen many games in their early stages (I can give you examples) and the comments on them were so bad that I think that the developer killed himself what is meant by this sentence is that we want constructive criticism, we know that we did not do something very cool, but it is not bad either.
Hey there, thanks for taking the time to respond. I appreciate the time taken to even respond to someone like me, playing a 0.1 version (so obviously incomplete and not a final product) - and honestly I like what is here already.
Just to reply - the criticism is my opinion, of course! So it can be left just as my opinion. Also, I am massively jaded, and that's probably more aligned to the negative experience with games starting up (much like this one) then disappearing! So not your fault at all, and not probably deserved for me to be harsh on your game/on your part. It can be difficult not to be instantly judgmental, which I immediately leapt to.
Good on you for taking the plunge and making what is here so far, and creating something that is your own.
But, we all do have families and responsibilities, jobs, partners, etc. Nobody doesn't! Unless you're like... an orphan with no surviving family and like... you lived in Antarctica with penguins and shit.
Just be honest, it's HARD to develop and create! Definitely! It's hard to commit to anything and complete it! That's life.
This has promise, and the game has some x-factor that I will await and watch for development with great interest! You are onto something - and I wish you the best luck and success as such.
Don't let an instant lack of patreon success stop you from developing, was more my angle here! It makes me think of GRasputin making his HTML game. Arguably it was the most popular HTML game on this site, and was well made, I guess if you like that kind of thing.
Then, his interest waned, and he just came forward and stated that as he wasn't pulling enough patreon money he was giving up on development (after, interestingly, wasting money on commissioning some swedish porn star to show her tits being jizzed on whilst holding a phone with his game logo on it - which was SUPER weird.)
But I digress. I hope you succeed and have many successful years of development ahead!
Peace!
