the landlady workaround for incest in porn games. either use something else that makes more sense like adoption or step family or dont make an incest game at all

idk maybe the family of a close friend that youre staying with to make a similar vibe. there are multiple alternatives to patreon so i dont know why patreon is so popular with its strict rules. and if those are out of the question then make something other than incestAdoption or step-family is a no-no for Patreon... it has been suggested that so is the phrase "we're like family" if the characters have sex.
So what other alternative suggestions do you have for those who wish to use Patreon for a platform?
Sure, but patreon still could count that as incest if it looks like it, that's why you need explicit relations stating that they aren't mom and sis.If you're a really good writer you could make it blatantly clear who's a mom and sis without ever saying it.
Ah, the patented VN sexual progression route to keep a game going way past its expiration date... until the dev is victim of a flash flood, or the bubonic plague, or depression, maybe even alien abduction or any other thing that will result in an abandoned game with no proper ending because the dev no longer has the time or capacity to finish it."Sorry honey, I totally want to fuck you, but we still haven't done thighs, tits or feet."
That and gated relationships. Don't you love it when the game forces you to romance someone so you can romance the one you're actually after - but who is unavailable unless you romance the gatekeeper... and it's extra annoying if that evolves into a forced throuple with no way to pick just the one you want.Forced relationships.
Are you sure? I was under the impression that stepcest is 100 percent allowed.Adoption or step-family is a no-no for Patreon... it has been suggested that so is the phrase "we're like family" if the characters have sex.

The short answer is: no, it's not. If it was, then the #1 adult game on Patreon would be using it to quell its fans. Whether by blood or by marriage - it's a big no. It's a major reason why landlord/landlady is a meme. Are you sure? I was under the impression that stepcest is 100 percent allowed.
Agreed. There are games where there is one girl who you really want to focus on, but the story won't let you. That and gated relationships. LOL, people want different things. I have absolutely zero interest in a romance VN that focuses on one person. That's not what I'm here for whatsoever. For me, that's for real life. I want unrealistic fantasy. Most VNs worth their salt allow you to focus on romancing a single person anyway. It's the bad ones that force you into having sexy times at every turn, because who wants chemistry when you just want to see the MC bang their way through the cast like a cheap XXX flick, right?
I'm glad it's not just me.- Me trying to make a game and getting to horny to make any progress at all.
Oof the part about choices is a gut punch. Where the heart is was one of my favorite most anticipated games then 21 episodes in they decided you have to choose when for 20 episodes you've enjoyed a harem and yeah if you really look for it they said you'd have to chose but it shouldn't all come down to the wire like it's ended doingThis topic pops up quite often, and my list seems to largely remain the same because authors seem to keep running into many of the same problems.
MCs that look like they haven't even or have barely just hit puberty, as well as MCs that look like the least amount of work went into their character design.
MCs that are narratively too beta. Too often, MCs are "too good," too simpy, doormats, or lack confidence/initiative, etc.
Obsessive branching/"choices matter" and artificial "replay value," for lack of a better description. I really don't want to have to follow a walkthrough for these games/VNs. It's just annoying. And frankly, I'm not really interested in what seems to be many people's definition of "replay value" for these games/VNs. For me, whatever replay value there is, if any, is going to be built into the visual quality and sex scenes. I'm generally never going to replay your entire game just to see some alternative path I was mechanically locked out of because I didn't follow a walkthrough to optimize my choices to "unlock" content. And speaking of choices, the consequences should be rather obvious, logical, and immediate--choices, especially small choices, shouldn't be some big mystery in terms of consequences. I don't want the author to decide six months down the road of development that a choice I made in chapter 2 is suddenly going to matter in chapter 6 and swerve my playthrough in a previously unforeseen direction, or something like that.
I'm personally kinda burned out on the contemporary college setting. It's just too overdone at this point, and with titles like Being a Dik already out there, I don't have much faith that it can be done better than it has already been done. Authors are going to need to spice things up a bit to get me interested in that type of setting again, like going forward or backward to different eras in time and at least give the window dressing a bit more novelty, or perhaps specialize the general school setting a bit more to something more narrow--like boot camp/military training, or med school, or something like that.
Too much inner monologue from the MC, especially when it's large exposition dumping or ceaseless rambling about nothing important. This is way too common, and I still don't really get why. With regard to exposition dumps, it's always better to show, rather than tell. And if the inner monologue is rambling so much so that I'm driven to spacebarring through everything, my interest in the game/VN has clearly taken a nose dive and my next move is probably to quit and uninstall. I also don't need to hear about how hot every girl the MC meets is. The players have eyes. Again, more show, less tell.
Technical laziness--lighting, cinematography/camera work, depth of field. I get that it's much easier to just load up some premade assets and call it a day, pump out renders but it's so easy to tell the difference between devs who really aim for quality, and those who do the bare minimum.
This one might be unpopular, but lack of action, violence, and high drama. Maybe I'm just somehow missing titles that include these offerings, but the titles I tend to run into more often than not have almost none of this. I've seen these themes pop up here and there, but not often, and they're only rare done well. Maybe it's related to too many normie settings in mom's house, or in school, so the setting isn't really conducive with these offerings.
Too much paint-by-numbers / cookie-cutter progression with the same predictable milestones when it comes to relationships and lewd scences, incestuous or otherwise. Catch/peep on someone in the shower, catch/peep on someone masturbating, the all too familiar massage/yoga with progressively more intimate contact, handjob>footjob>titjob>blowjob>sex
I'm glad it's not just me.
