A lot of people mention problems about MC don't have a Dad, If the MC have father figure this would be fix instantly.

From not getting laid to actually become a functional part of society, instead of pervert and manace to society lol

If all MC have father figure, there would be no game lol.

But for me, I hate grinding lol.

This is a problem with assets selection mostly, but I roll my eyes when I see the MC is incredibly rich but has nothing to do with the game/story.
If he is an adult he lives in a mansion with a few super cars and if he is younger, he has a huge bedroom with PC and technology that looks from the future.
Even worse if he has to work to buy something for the girl/woman he likes and the games go like: "+ $50".

I want story, I want character development. But a fucking 15 minute conversation? This is meant to be a NSFW game, I don’t give a fuck about the love interest’s family.

This is a video game general problem, honestly. Most non-erotic games can get away with it bc they have MoCap and VO, but most games just have subpar writing in general. All text, no subtext.

for me: 1. low effort design/animations, why does everybody have the same body/face structure? this just kills the mood, and makes you wanting to not waste your time trying to invest in the next character, they are all the same anyway.

2. Games that doesn't have a in game guide or something. "oh shit where i am going now, what quests i got right now", this is something that happens a lot in adult games at least with me, and I don't want to open a Walkthrough to know what quests i have, so could you please put a button that easily tell what quests i got and say a tip of what do i need to do next? is it that hard? Goodbye Eternity made the quest mechanics really well.
Overall, Goodbye Eternity IS a really good game, with really high quality graphics/animations with not so forced relationships.

3. Why is every female MC so dumb, completely useless or so innocent in these games? I know that corruption is a fetish and all, but corrupting a well written MC/female character is 100% better/more exciting than corrupting a really dumb one.
The main character from The Magic Town literally let her body be possessed by a ghost and she (mc) is so useless (words from the own game) that her body literally throws her spirit away because the ghost is using it better.
Besides that, my god, someone with 16+ years should know what someone asking for them sitting on their lap means.
I am sorry but I don't want to play with such dumb and useless MC, specially if comedy isn't the main focus of your game.

4. Excessive grinding. Why? I do understand some grinding to make combat easier, but grinding EVERYTHING? really?

5. why is every girl lesbian or bi? I know that opens some new scenes, but you could make it different than "she just like pussy and dicks" Ypu easily could put a drinking/mind controll/drugs to forced them into the lesbian/bi path, but why bother, just make her lesbian anyway.
One game that I really like called Another Chance committed this mistake, almost every single girl is lesbian, and I mean lesbian because some of them makes no sense at all why are they having sex with a dude.
A new character appears and she makes something that reveals she is lesbian: yeah, of course she is.
It just breaks immersion, lesbians doesn't like guys.

6. make the game have consequences, if you are with someone, and they don't appear to be the type who wouldn't mind you going out with other girls, make that if you do betray them, they will not want anything to you anymore. life is made of action and consequences, and a game should have that too.
Or at least make really clear at the beginning to all new possible characters relationships that the MC won't stick with just one, so it doesn't feel THAT much unrealistic.
It's so weird to me when a character that looks like it wants a monogamous relationship randomly decides to have a threesome.

Games will have "separate" character quests, but then it turns out you're really just on rails anyway, because progress with LI 1 requires a certain amount of progress with LI 2, who requires a certain step be done with LI 3, etcetc. WTf dev, why not just make them mutually exclusive, it's like they're scared people won't discover certain parts of game so they try and make it mandatory.

Again, sometimes it's logical, like if there's an existing lesbian couple and you storm the gates trying to setup that threesome action, it makes sense that even if you're only in to 1, you have to charm the other.

No, I don't want to juggle six save files, or have to redo the game from the beginning to get all the women. I downloaded this game for the porn, don't gate the porn behind me having to sit through your terribly written prose a third time.

Replayability is for games that have fun gameplay. Leaning on the control key until you hit dialog you haven't seen before is not that.

Good one. I love roguelike / roguelite games and I'd love to see more porn games leaning into their mechanics, but it's hard to create a good rogue game, because you have to juggle a lot of variables to get the progression loop right.

And invariably someone on the game thread will complain that so and so girl isn't a LI. Then a bunch of other people will pile on.

Personally, I'd love to see devs just say "No" but a lot of the times when enough people start asking, the devs cave and give them what they want. After enough time it just seems that the devs have been trained to just not bother with non LI characters.

This is a "for the most part" thing, obviously, some devs still have the backbone to do their own thing.

mc having a non-related and non-step father figure really isn't a half bad idea. it sidesteps (if necessary) all of the problems with a porn family dad, while still allowing for any mc character development sideplots you'd like.

a whole another question though is that 99% of audience would hate reading through events about a father figure with no sex scenes with him.

but it would allow what a dead dad rules out, for those weird and surprisingly numerous people who insist that they just want the dad to be around. and it would make mc deeper.

Funnily enough I'm pretty sure that trope started with rain causing mascara to run back before makeup was water resistant. Now a single tear causes women's faces to melt just to stick to an outdated trope.

It's kinda playing the trope and make it look over the top, Like how Michael Bay throwing that explosive at every scene, it's one of those trick that made it look like the girl really goes hungry for that things associate with wannabe hardcore work.

“Slow burn” games: I have no problem with games having a long build, if it makes sense, but some Devs use a shitty story that drags and drags along, just to milk their supporters and sell it as a “slow burn” game.

Silly Porn logic: There are games that do a decent job with it, but some just feel like some Teen who watched too much porn and hasn´t had any sexual experience in his life, wrote the story.

Grindy gameplay: You could also call it terrible gameplay design or an attempt to milk your supporters. How many games have you played where you have to grind stats, rinse and repeat, and other shit, just to get rewarded with a few boring sex scenes? A game is supposed to be fun and not to be a chore.

Mini-games: Just stop it.

Same old character models: I have played so many xxx games that I often times have difficulties to differentiate them from another, because many Devs use the same lame-ass low quality Daz models that have been used in a thousand other games before.

No Auto function: I use the auto function and set a text speed, so I can read the text and don´t have to click through all the dialogues. It´s especially useful for games with a lot of text. Most games have this option, but some remove it for whatever reason.

RPGM games: Why??? This engine fucking sucks!!! It´s a terrible gameplay experience because you don´t have simple but important options that you´ll find in Renpy games, and RPGM games are often lazily made because you have so much filler in them and not much content. It´s even worse when you don´t have an on-screen quest log and you waste hours to trigger a lame scene.

No animations/bad animations: creating animations takes time and a powerful PC to render them. But why not at least take the time and make your sex scenes look good? You can put images together and make it look like it´s animated, but sometimes you´ll see two images together that repeat themselves and it just looks like shit and makes the sex scenes short. Doesn´t matter if your Story sucks or if it's amazing, when your sex scenes are shit, you have already lost.

Sandbox games: There are some that do a good job, but most of them are just terrible to the point where you just wander around, just to trigger a scene.

Bad quest logs: Just write where I´m supposed to go and what i´m supposed to do. Keep it simple.

Unity/unreal: Same problems like RPGM games where key features are missing and a lot of games just don´t need that engine. Just use renpy because it runs great and is instantly compatible with more platforms.

Godot engine: Same like RPGM and Unity. But the absolute worst thing with this engine is how the games are running. So many bugs, compatibility issues, crashes and all that shit.

VN´s: To be fair there are some visual novels that are pretty good, but most are pretty boring and don´t have any choices. At that point it just becomes a shitty porn movie and I could watch the real thing instead.

RPGM have the advantage of actually being able to physically move the character, being able to see you surroundings and being able to interact with who you want, when you want. The issue is the constant walking and the unecessary combat.

dont disagree, I've thought for some time now this ecosystem is ripe for some deep-pocketed company to clean up - they'd just have to have a spine to resist the social pressure.
