What did the dev do with the kick starter money they got, when they promised to make a game and not just keep posting only stupid wall papers?
Don't have any clue, though I assume they've used it up by now — maybe for assets or similar, but also maybe just to live off of. The wallpapers might actually be to make money in the meantime... while they work on a "Chapter 1 Refresh".
FCOL, they already were
at least 3 chapters in, if not 4 or maybe even 5 (honestly, I can't remember now b/c of how long it's been). I understand that if a game takes years and years to make that assets will eventually look old or whatever. But instead of continuing with the project and
making actual progress — what practically everyone (including supporters) actually wants — time gets wasted redoing huge chunks of the game. If we say they had a complete Chapter 5 (again, not sure if they really do), that would approximate to 5 updates roughly per chapter. So not only do they redo work, but doing so for an entire chapter is guaranteed to take a huge amount of time longer than normal updates would.
I enjoyed this game quite a bit — from crime scene clues and accusations to the silly time-based storyline to the lewd scenes and dev's sense of humor — so I have no idea why they would try to sink their own game with a "refresh" that almost nobody asked for.
