Perhaps I'll change my mind about this and add free access by the next version.
I simply didn't give it much thought until now, as I saw it as an additional option for subscribers. My motivation to include it in paid access will become clearer if we consider these thoughts: Most HTML games, if I'm not mistaken, do not offer such an option, or everything is done poorly. It's the same as creating HD content and content with lower quality. HD content can be offered as an option, a bonus; those interested can purchase it additionally. Content with lower quality is already accepted as standard for such games and certainly isn't offered as an additional option. From this perspective, I don't see any selfishness
I get the why.
It's more that you want to do it in a way that compliments the game, not in a way that takes away.
e.g. like that burger meme with games, where the base game is the bun, and the lettuce cheese meat tomato are DLC. You want the burger to be the main, with the sides being the DLC.
Which to be honest, current way is like they are given part of the game, not the whole game.
One other pro to not having gated content like that, is it's one less thing to break.
I'd suggest a more robust cheat system for the code. (adjusting of values and such). this would be a decent way to monetize without it being invasive.
Also, just to warn, you could be held liable if you lock porn asset content behind a paywall, since it is someone else's intellectual property, but be able to get away with it being free. (I say that because I think paradise found may have had that issue, to where the images became a "third party" thing).
Just something to be aware of.
