You know its interesting to consider the duality of Lester/Byron, they're both manipulative and conniving fuckers. Essentially the same type of person - yet for reasons I can't identify, I can't stand Byron. Which is odd to me, because so little has been written about him.I really fucking hate Jesse, I'd rather Byron on his place.
No way a needy ass like him should make Sarah get this horny, that woman gets wet by watching whales mating at this point.
Who are these people Sarah hides her secret from? Sarah seems to be a gregarious outgoing person and yet, we haven't seen one instance of her sharing a confidence with a female friend, about anything. Even though she had "friends" at the hospital it was very compartmentalized, before they got axed. Why hasn't she reached out to the ex HR director? IIRC they were friendly, if nothing more than to commiserate on the shitty thing the hospital did to them.It would increase the thrills for Sarah as she has to hide this naughty secret from people familiar with her and her family.
You are correct neither of them have confidants, friends or even their kids schoolmate parents. It so strange Dan and Sarah being so isolated but makes them easily susceptible to Lester’s manipulation since they have no outside social interactions. Sarah and Dan have so little interaction with their parents except as babysitters. The only know interaction is when Lester made Sarah have a phone conversation with her dad while they were having sex. No interaction with her mom or either of Dan’s parents. It’s almost like Dan and Sarah are snobbish or the black sheep(I.e. outcasts) of the family.Who are these people Sarah hides her secret from? Would have been more insightful to see a different perspective of Sarah thru a friends eyes, vs the fluff context of TLG etc., that we've gotten.
Byron’s problem is that he doesn’t come off as charming or relatable character. Many of the antagonists are similar in attitude. Whether it’s Byron, Vernon, Otis, Him and Richard Thornhill they are selfish and care very little of the people they control or hurt. People like Sarah are merely a disposable item to be used and abused for pleasure and discarded as trash. At least Lester wants Sarah for more than just pleasure. Sarah means something to Lester which makes he more relatable and likable in a despicable way.You know its interesting to consider the duality of Lester/Byron, they're both manipulative and conniving fuckers. you think lester is charming and relatable???????? explains a lot of the lester-fandom in this thread lmaoByron’s problem is that he doesn’t come off as charming and not a relatable character. First off….You are not very observant feller. It’s a thread about Don Silver stories so there are fans who reside here. I know his stories tend to be a bit too sophisticated probably for your simple taste. You please free to add your opinion on another thread. I haven’t seen on Patreon yet. I’ll keep everyone postedDon is going to release a short story today for MLK day titled 'I Have a Cuckold Dream'.
I was making a bad jokeI haven’t seen on Patreon yet. I’ll keep everyone posted
Sophisticated? It's turned into another cheating wife story with a dumb husband like all the rest. Sure it's better than most if you like cheating but as usual Dan is useless and dumb like in all these stories.First off….You are not very observant feller. Back to point When you compare the options Sarah is currently offered then…… yes Lester is the best option Sarah wants. Im sorry your guy lost. We have outliers in Jesse which Sarah has said is too whiny and needy and Dan is emotionally unavailable to Sarah currently. When he is done with his pity party will it be too late
I'd agree that Dan is less defined as a character than I'd care for, but sincere questions beg to be asked. What should his character be? What would make him unusual? How would you write the husband character differently - to suit your preference in all these stories?but as usual Dan is useless and dumb like in all these stories.
Just don't make him so dumb and conflicted. He started out kind of normal but as the story has stretched on he has become so dumb.I'd agree that Dan is less defined as a character than I'd care for, but sincere questions beg to be asked. So by normal do you mean he was a man who had a fantasy or thoughts about his wife in sexual situations (using a broad term here) that would likely lead to sharing his wife? And by dumb, do you mean he's not stood his ground, or put a stop to things when Sarah and/or Lester has manipulated him, using his fantasy against him?Just don't make him so dumb and conflicted. Both I guess. He used to have agency in the story now he's just background noise and he lets his emotions get the better of himSo by normal do you mean he was a man who had a fantasy or thoughts about his wife in sexual situations (using a broad term here) that would likely lead to sharing his wife? I do disagree with you on the conflicted aspect, I think it's only natural that once a person's dark secret has been exposed that there could be some feelings of both excitement (seeing his fantasy) and concerns (regret/guilt/shame for exposing his wife) about how that might represent him.
I agree with you on this point - this story hinges on the dynamics between the three you mentioned. Some of the other NPCs are lack of a better word filler. But in small doses I feel they are necessary to help the story flow better, add variety and give context to the main 3. 10 pages of Dan dicking around with TLG/Sentinel isn't warranted, but a paragraph or two about his interactions with them do add perspective and gives you an understanding of Dan's character. It's just the story is supposed to be about Lester, Sarah & Dan but these other characters just get in the way and are annoying.
Agreed that he had agency in the beginning but he gave up that control and it's why I say he's wishy-washy, and passive aggressive (or that is how DS has written him, imo). If it were me, Dan would be the major source of conflict for Sarah and what she wants and better opponent to Lester's schemes. That's what I mean by more defined. Both I guess. And wanting to share your woman is not some big dark thing like he thinks.
