It was the specific error it seems to caused I found surprising, not the actual downgrade. The dates on the posts made clear the patch was for some older version, and swapping the whole data folder is pretty much swapping the whole game.

The game looks pretty damn good, I hope the translation will be soon up to date, I'll try the 1.0.5 anyways.
I'm actually trying to launch it and I have the "game.dat" missing issue, I've played countless wolfRPGs before, and always found a workaround, but I'm really stuck here ... Tried it on desktop, also c drive, the file path doesn't have anything weird in it and is short, it's probably something I'll feel stupid about once I'll know the issue, but it's really an anoying game engine just for that reason.

Edit : I was trying to launch the 1.0.5 version of the game all this time, I tried the 1.2.1 just to check and it worked, weird.

Thanks, I will try this and edit my post if it worked, it's pretty weird since I never actually had to do that in any wolfrpg games, I hope it'll be worth it for this one lol
