So I finally managed to finish the game. Yes, I know not a big deal considering how long has it been since the Kagura release, but believe me, the mess they released really made playing this game more agonizing than it should have been, so I took my sweet time.
The good? Game! Pretty good in my opinion. I love strong willed heroines and though I'm not a big fan of of the corruption fetish, it was doubly good that the corruption in here wasn't stemmed from rape. The dev took a unique approach to it and still managed to hit the mark without reducing the heroine into a mind broken cum rag.
The CGs are pretty well done and though there is some CG recycling, if you play the events spread out in a variety order, you will hardly notice it. The only place where it becomes glaringly "in your face" was at the Adventurer's Alley where she ends up
having sex with every Tom, Dick and Harry that passes by and you have to pretty much go on a CG hunting rampage because each NPC has a different fetish.
Overall though, it was a well made game. It had quite a few things to do, and though there were some weak points, like unnecessary combat elements that felt like it carried little meaning, in the end it was still a well executed and lore oriented concept. Not an amazing experience, but it ticked all the "is different" check lists and seemed refreshing in its take.
The bad? Well the game has its flaws, but what really hurts it the most is the immersion breaking wonkyness. At the time of this review I was on 1.04 GOG version of the game, which I believe is the latest, and it still had bugs like H event triggers that shouldn't be active in the castle, transition black screen freezing when triggering events, and don't even get me started on the mess that is the Recollection Room.
I'll just splash some screen-grabs as example and you should get the gist:
Sprite breaching outside of the room boundary
Incomplete CG render
Wrong Outfit during recollection[Should be BunnySuit] with a side of creepy eyes in the middle of the screen.[CG incomplete render]
There were also instances where events didn't trigger at all and I had to restart game on multiple occasions to make them work.
Frankly, it's not my job to fix issues in this game so I won't go as deep. Was the game shipped buggy by the creator? Or were they introduced during the localization process? Honestly, I do not know. Though, I do have my theories but I'll refrain from rants.
Overall, the game was good in my opinion and I'll buy it from Dlsite to directly support the dev when I can.
