I had the same error, fixed it by downloading both
Microsoft Visual c++ redistributable 2010 x64 and x86 , I had the x64 one installed already but I chose to repair it and install the other one, the game opened right away after that.

This one's pretty good but I wish there was more than just one heroine. I'd like to see routes for some of the other characters.
Seemed like an interesting premise but just couldnt get into it when I learned you dont get any choice whatsoever on how the story plays out and who to pursue. Wont spoil but if you find your not into the main love interest might as well just close the game
