Yep that is correct - and there where a lot of bad games back in the days. Because it is easy to fail in that genre. I liked some of the good ones (most of Lucas arts and some others like Beneath a steel sky), but with RPGM it is so anoying to play because the UI is clunky and so on.

Yeah, I don't play visual novel type games that use RPGM, since it gets too painful. But stuff like Lust Epidemic, A Zombie's Life, Urban Demons - those I enjoy. Agreed about the UI, it's a hassle, but I've gotten used to it at this point. If someone could make a good walking-around system for Renpy, that'd be a great 'best of both worlds' scenario.
