Have you tried running it with another os,right click exe icon,properties,compability,run it for w7,try that.Mine is working fine but i have all my drivers updated also,if you don't have a program to update drivers send me message,i'll help you out

There is probably no more limit. I have about 1 milion and its OK. Two updates back is there secret code for 9 mils and no problem with this.

I'm also at 51 %. You just need to follow the hints, it's really easy, nobody needs a walkthrough. The in-game help via soul-stone is really good.
