Idk, my only guess is: it might have a dependency on breaking other fish records before.
the game might just not spawn the one you need until you got all the other big specimens.

No, "Bruce" has been catchable for a long time, long before the fishing manuals(boosters) where implemented. You are just getting RNG'd.

I got Bruce in version 81042, along all other fish requested by the Jim the Bait Shop guy.

And what I did (and worked very well for me) was, everytime I needed a specific fish to show up (for example the 1000lb Marlin), I got to the Bait Shop guy and talked to him, making him say the needed fish again (and again, sometimes). And after a few "beach in - beach outs" the fish appeared with little struggle.
Or it was just my imagination, I don't know. Maybe it's worth a try.

I've had all the records before. The fisherman in the house told me to catch a 3000 lbs. Anyway, I finally got it. Yesssss

A 3000 lbs shark. Beach. Talk to the fisherman beforehand until he tells you that he would like a 3000 lbs.

Is it possible to cheat to have more money in Mac version ? It's seem impossible to raise thousands of dollars in MAC...so I can't buy all of the house upgrades
