You can make your own interim fix by going into /www/img/characters, making a copy of the file "$Hornet@(12).rpgmvp" and renaming the copy to "$Hornet.rpgmvp". All the hornets in the game will look like hornet swarms, but you can play and proceed.
Speaking of proceeding: the Naomi profile has been mentioned, there is also a profile for Diana, but I forgot the exact location where I found it. I THINK it was rather deep in the jungle, past the second hornet...
