I've been avoiding the whole fishing thing because I find it a boring side-quest that doesn't seem to advance the story. I've also avoided the puzzle temple, mainly because I suck at them, and would need to follow (and have followed) video walkthroughs to get a lot of the ones I've completed so far.

Are either necessary? I know you need to catch certain fish, to open up certain puzzles, but that's about all. If there is no story reason to do them, I'll just keep avoiding them. If not, I need to know so I can start grinding them both.

As far as I can tell, no need for fishing or the temple puzzles to progress in the game. The hard part is getting the extras like the booty call figures, and the profiles and pictures.

You gotta be fucking kidding me....

After a couple of hours of hunting for the big boi, only six large sharks spawned in total. Five of them just bolted away and the only one that I've managed to catch is barely making the cut.. I'm done.

Dont give up. I had one that was 2954.19 lbs and that stood as my record for a long time until I finally caught Bruce.

Thats it. There are money limits in first part of game. It depends on your progress, but its about from 35k to 55k, after that its unlimited. If you have more than money limit is talismans stops reswaping.
And BTW mod is no longer supported and will probably break the game in the future.
Hearts depends on game progress and there is no reason for cheat it.
If you need some money you can use oCATo cheted-safe saves. Bud I think its not necessary.
