Roo is a William Character, who until just a month ago, has been absent thanks to real-life issues (starting with a depressed spell thanks to losing contact people, buying and moving into a Home, dealing with housing issues, getting scammed by his insurance company, and then got COVID, garage flooded)
The stuff he has been working on so far in the month he has been back is Sophora, Vanika (Shock Hopper), and the Jumpers. We should be getting a number of new scenes from him very soon (Like a week or two).

Thanks for sharing the news, good to know. Of the current authors William is probably my favorite by far, since he tries to take into account a lot of possible body modifications to give stuff like Suula parts a meaning for once.

I really hope Leila is still something he will finish writing, Roo is cool and all (and maybe Sophora's content is good, i don't know, haven't met her) but Leila sure is the 1 companion I am really looking forward to.

Anyxine is meh, she only ever tops you (except for a one-off scene) and she makes a statement that I absolutely hate when you unlock her sex content:
"Someday you’ll be my boss in the board room, but we both know who’ll be calling the shots in the bedroom.”

Like hell, I just want some dick every now and then, why is my character okay with this bitch thinking she owns me now or some shit
I agree, Anyx is a part of the reason why I made my comment a few spots back from yours, because you got ANOTHER futanari, who seemingly only wants to be the top/dominant partner in the bed, and your character doesn't really have a say in the relationship, which is weird to me, because you would believe the individual that you grew up with very closely would respect for your position/stances on topics more, instead of being very dismissive.

When I first came across Anyx, I genuinely believed her to be female (I didn't pay any attention to her lower half outside of noticing she's of leithan-descent), and was mildly surprised to see her be a futanari. I quickly accepted Anyx and thought she could be a decent character, who want to be a switch, since she doesn't give strong female protagonist vibes, but that line you quoted quickly brought me back to reality, and into the CJ from San Andreas mindset of: "Ah shit, here we go again".

I agree with basically all of that. I think there are many individual things that plague CoC 2 but a big part of it is certainly that the main authors got lured into a sense of being infallible by the years long, positive affirmation by their well earned fan base. Ironically I think most of them wrote better smut in earlier days, when they were trying to do their very best, nowadays I feel like a lot of the new content feels lifeless and exchangeable, written by someone who's not really in it with their heart or mind.

The cast of OCs the writers are far too attached to (to the point where I can at least understand people suspecting they are self-inserts) versus supposedly making a game centered around the player character, who by large is controlled by the authors instead of the player, kinda ruined the game. If somebody wants to write smutty fanfiction with their own characters they should do that & not try to include them in a supposed CYOA game.
I can relate to their hesitance to write a ton of scenes where the protag is indirectly in control of their favorite characters, but that is why I think it is a terrible idea to begin with to include them in a game like that.

When Fenoxo himself lead a project there was a certain level of professionalism that (for the most part) kept everything together, but (just my impression) unfortunately Savin struggles with keeping those writers in check that he's close with.
Allowing them to create an environment (CoC 2 part of the Fenoxo Forums) where they don't get to hear honest critique when parts of the game completely stray from giving the player any agency for example was a really bad thing to do.
That is the exact reason why I quit playing CoC2 years ago, and don't care to go back. That whole kitsune family storyline to me was the perfect "My opinion matters and it actually affects the people around me, including my loved ones" to "I'm now officially a side character in a supposed CYOA game, my family doesn't respect me and I should've left that damn Kiyoko in the orb".

Iirc, it's because the bulk of characters are people's OCs and they get a big say on how their character acts or what can happen to them and it seems like most people want to be the biggest most badass space dickgirl or something. This is also why some characters like Azra has had like no content in ages either because their creators aren't doing much for them... and why that one mafia girl literally can't be beaten in any capacity, max stats or not, so if you do that quest your only options are to die, pay her off, or be her pet (personally I like her 'bad end' where you elope but the lack of options in dealing with her suck and make you look like an chump instead of a hardened former merc or whatever else you might be)
That sounds like a recipe for disaster if I have never heard one before. You have this nearly infinite universe to explore and the best the writers can do is copy and paste futanaris/hermaphrodites, who seemingly give up ALL of their femininity, must have mercenary/military/thug/space captain background, first sexual interaction you MUST have sucked them off or took their bare minimum 8-inch dick up your ass with a creampie finish, and refusal to change the relationship dynamic even 5-10%, with a male character that they supposedly love and/or possibly see a future with (whether that means children remains to be seen with some of them). Did I miss any on the checklist?

CoC 2 took it too far. It's literally fanfiction for their OCs and the protagonist is just a tag along plot device... plus being stuck with a party or whatever really sucks imo. Especially when the catgirl is arguably the sluttiest character I've seen outside of nukage doujins.
Just my opinion though. Plus, I dropped it very quickly. I'm sure it must have some appeal I guess, even if I don't see it.
Anno is giving off the same personality so far as Cait did/does.

I feel like a lot of that boils down to:

a. some writers not accepting the fact that nobody plays a porn game to be lectured about how in reality you can't really demand someone to be faithful when you are sleeping around yourself, just because you want that in a game doesn't mean you are a hypocrite, also most people really wouldn't like any of the shit going on in any of the games (CoC 1 & 2, TiTS) to happen to them for real - hell, most of it would quite literally result in lethal injuries.

b. the same type of writer feeling like their OCs are entitled to be treated as if they were actual persons

c. these people loosing track of the fact that their writing simply isn't nearly good enough to create an immersion strong enough to backup the approaches in points a. and b.

d. (edited) and that someone can be dominant without being abrasive/condescending towards the submissive part, in fact the latter is more a sign of being a jerk than anything; people can have sex on equal terms, yes, even if 1 has a bigger dick; being obnoxiously in the face with a potential powerdynamic isn't a sign of a strong/imposing character, in fact it gives the impression someone is compensating for their small ego.

Some personnal thinking :
a. While the player is not an hypocrite, the character in universe would be, not everyone wants to play such a character in fact such a defining trait in a self insert rpg should not be forced on the player but idealy be their choice, do I want to be a controlling sex addict? Some may want that others not. Some character can be devoted to the mc but if every single ones LI is the same archetype, it loses the charm.

b. While character aren't real they should feel like a real person in their universe, with motivations, qualities, flaws and be coherent with themselves and the world they live in. Now, if I want to drown some of them that's ok and should be allowed to do so.

c. You can't have good writing if you don't treat characters as persons in their world making your point invalid in my opinion.

about a. Yeah but the problem is that it isn't the character the writers are lecturing, I'm not sure if you ever cared to read through some of the stuff (a lot of it got deleted though because it escalated) that went on over on the Fenoxo forums. Also you misunderstood my point (which might be a result of how I expressed myself though), it's not about not allowing the player to pick how they want their character to act, it's about the lack of a choice in that. With some characters, all written by the same persons. Other characters are written with the mindset of the whole thing being a game that should center around providing an enjoyable experience to the players, not a tool for some writers to try and impose their set of beliefs about how relationships should be handled upon the players. Especially since the usual case is that there isn't even an option to play monogamous, the writers just assume every player is trying a harem playthrough and act antagonistic, which is really crappy towards people even trying to roleplay the way you describe.

about b. I agree, but that isn't achieved by getting into an indirect confrontation with the player, that's just petty and unprofessional. As I've wrote before, don't use your favorite (maybe even self-insert) OC characters in a porn game which is entirely centered around the porn if you aren't fine with them being treated as nothing but a help for others to jerk off to the sex scenes with them. I'm not saying the story parts and the interactions are bad, by any means, but things start to sour as soon as the respective writers start to take themselves, their characters and the fetishized interactions with them too seriously.

c. Yeah, but treating cliché characters in a porn game without any meaningful story like anything else than a tool to make the players happy just isn't a thing. That doesn't improve on the writing, it simply is a fools errand. I agree with what you say but it doesn't apply here.
For that to be valid there would have to be an entirely different level of intricacy and amount of interaction between the characters and the protagonist. As long as the majority of their scenes doesn't even take into account stuff like player virginities, body modifications, the adventures that happened and are happening & the characters aren't a constant presence throughout the entire journey, with meaningful impact on the events, they have no business being treated like secondary protagonists. So it is the other way around, first a character needs to act like a real person, then they can be treated as such by the setting their in.

there's a lot of weird writing for characters that are supposedly close to the player. one that still strikes me as super out of place after all these years is the downright psychotic obsession with valden that syri had. it was basically completely written off after the quest because they may have realized how off the wall that was, but she was so obsessed with him that she removed her own genitals to "take care" of his and was willing to murder any innocent person who may have been in her path to reunite. it was sorta hinted in the quest that the people you were fighting weren't good guys, but it was quite clear that syri was just being a maniac in the quest. it definitely made all the syri scenes a lot stranger.

tl;dr the game has some absurdly weird and bad writing in a lot of places

Yeah that quest turned her from 1 of my favorite characters back in the day into 1 that I completely ignore on any playthrough. After taking a look at her crew content though I feel warranted, she didn't develop in a good direction & her content also reads as if Savin didn't give a fuck about her & TiTS in general anymore...which maybe he actually doesn't, I don't know for sure. Would explain how long it took to even get that half arsed attempt at making her a companion.

i think it points to a bigger issue of none of the companions really changing much when they join the crew. the game isn't very dynamic at all, but i get what you mean about it seeming low effort. kinda sucks cuz i like the syri hellhound designs

Syri's quest dropped around 2018, right? And her crew content was developed after that. That was around the same time that CoC2 got started in earnest, and since Savin was/is project lead on that it makes sense that he'd step back from TiTS content.

Yeah, that is what I think makes the attempt to force the players to act as if these characters are more than just a projection surface for their kinks so ridiculous. I totally get that in an rpg kinda game where the characters have a lot of dynamic interactions with the protagonist and the story, but not when exactly that is completely missing for the most part.

Yeah I think so & I understand that, but it also means that he has to accept the fact that many people will not be overly impressed by the way things were done with her in the end. Edit: and it especially means he shouldn't try to further influence what happens in TiTS, since he himself dubs it acceptable to willy nilly fiddle with other people's characters and content in CoC 2. It's borderline narcissistic to be so incredibly sensitive about his TiTS characters, given that.

Oh yeah, I did forget Helia. Though if memory serves she wasn't nearly as slutty as Anno and Cait. I recall a scene with the minotaurs that you could tell her not to repeat and she wouldn't (though I think originally that wasn't an option?) but nothing other than that. It's been far too long since I played CoC though.
I mean one point is that minotaurs were literally a drug in the first game. I can't recall if the option was added by request or just added in when she was more fleshed out... But the basic was that not everyone was comfortable with her being addicted (or anyone see Marble addiction being altered so we could break it). That and it makes her so much easier to find as she goes to you to get laid, so she can basically stalk you through the game for a bit.

So does anyone know what's the best way to sell ur stuff in early and late game? I mean to sell the equipment you get from the first mission and some other items.. I wanna sell them because they are quite useless and will only take space however I can't find a vendor that will not offer 1/5 of the price for it.. (early game like tutorial to second probe)

My reactions were about generic writing and what one should expect from payed writers, I'm the first to agree it doesn't always apply to this game or CoC, I felt that your points were presented in a very generic way so I reacted as such.
Regarding harem members sleeping around, my compromise is that I tolerate if it happen with character the mc fucks too or if they are present and the choice to avoid it is given to the player. From my opinion Urta x Amily was not a problem compared to Anno or Cait that sleep around with anyone.

You know ive thought about that before. How none of the companions you encounter after joining the crew are the EXACT same people but with just more scenes. Its weird cause i know for a fact if i try and play devils advocate in the disc server or forum the as to why this happens ill get some stupid answer like "People dont change that fast" or "Its not that big of a change so it doesnt warrant a change in their character" which in my opinion is stupid and is used as an excuse to cover up one of the many instances of inconsistent and bad writing of this game.

Now to further add 1 complaint to this convo. The personalities option in the character creation sequence do not matter.Yes there are actions that change your personality a bit and some scenes are outright locked if your personality isnt the right one(which in most cases is stupid) but the dialogue changes is MINIMAL at best. For example,at one point in the game i need to side with 1 of 3 factions.1 of these factions are actual slave traders.Since my steeles personality is KIND in my opinion i shoudnt even be able to choose them since it goes against my whole personality as a person. Now you can have a long and meaningless discussion about morals and whatnot but the thing is that you cannot justify a KIND character siding with slave traders(Except ig if we side with them and then betray them or smt but that doesnt happen so my point stands). So not only is the personality characteristic as a whole nearly redundant it also doesnt affect what choices i can make(which in theory should but i suppose? it hurts players freedom of choice and whatnot but it remains inconsistent so im split on it).

Now tbh i havent rlly paid much attention to the writing of the game since i only played for the smut(kek) but after it either "finishes" or some interesting patch drops ill replay it and read everything with max attention just to know how bad the situation is.Cause who knows one of these days i may be bored and go play devils advocate with these fuckers about how their "story" doesnt make fucking sense
