It's more of a copyright thing, more than anything tbh. And all 3d models are from VAM and they are close to the game, I just filter them using Stable Diffusion, and abit of deep-fake, to keep em consistent. I like the idea of casting my witcher universe with...hmmm...
Will be making polls on who to cast who in further episodes. Open to recasting characters aswell. It's really flexible.
Copyright shouldn't be an issue. CDPR took down content only
once because people were trying to mod in Johnny Silverhand fucking in Cyberpunk.
Who's played by Keanu Reaves, a real person.
I would take your concerns to heart but take in mind - NSFW artists exist. They use same resources - ones from game. Models, while heavily edited and rigged, are still from the game. Yet they continue to make porn with them and finance those pieces.
For example artist named Pewposterous made his entire career by making 3d witcher porn.
I'd argue that part of the reason why people come to love the characters are their stories, personality and also, their characters.
So, if the assets are available and offer authentic experience, why not utilize them, right?
You'd skyrocket your project's appeal that way. More so, when the MC is... of all people, Lambert.
Edit:
Additionally, here's an example of a game using ingame authentic models. It's still kicking around, granted inactive, not because CDPR issued a warning or something.
