It is more than a little bit silly that so many of the same people griping about the game being abandoned as recently as a week ago (and bad-mouthing the dev) do such a hard 180 and immediately complain that they don't yet have a new update that just dropped for subscribers and will be leachable soon enough. I mean, jeez - last week they were complaining about there never being another update...but now that there is one rather than just being happy about it and looking forward to it being available to us pirates they somehow transition instantaneously to spoiled bitching about not having it (the hoped-for update they never thought they would get 2 days ago) instantaneously. :rolleyes: Some people are only happy complaining, I guess. Sigh.

I for one am super happy that the game isn't dead, and waiting 2 weeks is nothing compared to waiting forever. (y)(y)(y) I'd be happy to wait a month if it got the dev more $ and made another future update more certain/likely.

Several days are planned after this update already, The dev likes to pack a ingame day into one update, so there is still a lot coming, if the doesnt get too frustrated with it leaking day one. I really hope the dev sees some uptick in subs after all.

Most likely not. I did not play 0.9 yet, but we are really only at the beginning of the story. And the version number does not really mean that much, a higher number usually only means that there is more content and not anything else.

It is entirely possible (and I think likely) that after 0.9 we will see 0.10, 0.11 and so on.

Yes next version should be 0.10 but some "dev" don't know better and make it 1.0 then 1.1 and so on. And some users think a 0.9 means 90% of total planned content...

Most games on this site use a system called semantic versioning. Basically you don't read "0.9" as a single decimal number but rather as two numbers separated by a dot:
  • 0.9 => major version 0 and minor version 9
  • 0.11 => major version 0 and minor version 11
The major version only gets bumped up when the game is complete or undergoes a major rework and the minor version gets bumped up when the game has an update.

Sometimes you'll see three numbers, e.g. 0.1.1 - the third number is "patch version", i.e. bug fixes for a given update

Honestly imo it'd be better to just use a trivial version system like "Update 9" or "Chapter 9" because the major version is essentially useless in the context of games but it's become a sort of standard
