From what I have seen and heard, most(at least a large group of number) of chinese player don't like this game, because it contains the content of "送女", which is a toxic point in chinese monopoly harem novel or game that the mc willingly to be cuckold.

The chinese word "送女" mean the mc willingly giving the girl who are interested in mc(no matter she is interested in mc's money, charm, power, etc) to another male character. The girl's type is not limited in main Li, side Li or even npc, as long as the girl have a more detail description in the story or maybe some chemistry between her and mc will fulfill the type label. Normally the mc who are doing this will describe their action as for the greater goods, help the buddy or using this to fulfill their goal.

So in this game, mc's pushing melena towards leon action in chinese's eyes is considered as "送女", even mc is not interested in melena, and that make this game have a quite negative rating in the chinese AVN clique, even many saying the story telling are quite emotional and the word's full of passion.

tbh I genuinely forgot who this Melena is lol. I had to download this game again, opened it, didn't see her name in the relationship chart, replayed the latest chapter again, finally saw her bitchy face, and I was like, "This is what all these fuss is about?" Her appearance is lackluster compared to other blonde LIs in the game, her attitude reeks of gold-digger type, MC (and me lol) wasn't interested in her at all, and most of all, we already have quite a lot of LIs to take care of... I honestly don't see the point of all these arguments. Maybe it's because I prefer forming a decent-sized harem where MC and girls are mentally connected, I just think being the main character of the game doesn't mean we have to fuck every hole that exists lol. These guys really suffer from some twisted (aha!) version of main character syndrome.

From what I know, their standard for Li is kind of different. They think the Li is identified not by the author but by the reader/player, if a female character describe in detail in the story then the player will start to develop feelings to her(no matter good or bad) and decided she is a Li or not. Moreover, they think if a character is well described in the story then it must be useful in later story(the rule Chekhov's gun), otherwise it will be pointless to make her appear and describe so detail to players.

In Melena's case, a large group of chinese player think she is like a side Li(even she is not in the relationship page) as she is described in the story in detail, related to one of the main Li, have some interested towards mc(even it is only for mc's fame) and may some how affect the story future. Then, after mc send her to leo, in their view is the main character send one of the Li to another male character, which consider as a willingly cuckold aka "送女", become a toxic point for this game and lead to a negative rating.

Btw, if someone still not understand why "送女" is a toxic point for them you need to also understand the definition of main character in their view. The chinese think the main character known as the main character is beacuse the story is mainly focus around the main character, all the character is described as to service the main character just like in the solar system all the planet move around the sun(mc), having another sun in the middle of story is kind of bad(unless the setting is set at the beginning).

Besides, as being the main character they think he is the winner as being the main focus, so either the winner take all or that thing not appear in the story, and the "thing" is including all the female characters. I remeber one of the chinese player common the game in negative rating and describe the atcion of mc towards melena in the word "The mc just like fed the food by others. The food is already in his mouth, instead of chewing and swallowing, he just spit the food into other's dish".

I don't get why some people get so hung up on melena. She's not nearly as attractive as any of the LIs and her personality sucks. And it doesn't even suck in a fun way. If she were bratty and arrogant, then you'd have the whole "breaking the brat"-appeal. If she were tsundere, there would be the fun of breaking through her shell.
But she's neither, she's just a gold digger. And there's no further depth beyond that. There's no hint of there being a decent person hiding under there. She isn't doing it out of economic anxiety, her family is rich. She's just a gold digger for the sake of it. She's into the mc right now because he is popular and for nothing else.
