All I know is that whatever day BaiBai releases the next update will be like Christmas for me, regardless of the calendar date. There are only a handful of AVNs that make my day/week when new updates drop and this is one of them. So I'm fine being patient even if there is nothing ATM to indicate that the next update's release is imminent.

yeah, after the dev claimed the update was done and being translated a bunch of loli-like devs got banned or shadow banned. dev then said he wanted to remake the game completely getting rid of anything that could be called loli content. saying it wasnt worth the hassle time and loss of money being shutdown in the future.
in the forum, there has been not any definite statement as to whether or not dev went that route, but seeing as translations are like 6months in progress, the game is actually being remade instead.
dont expect a release date to be released any time soon let alone an actual release.
You know oddly I never considered that was why this update was taking so long. I suppose it would make a ton of sense if that were true. Now I will definitely be checking old scenes and comparing them to the new update just check once the release happens.
Changing themes and whitewashing the game at this stage would be bad but I can see people still supporting BaiBai for new content, as long as nothing old was changed. Stealth changing old scenes though while saying new stuff was being worked on would be a deathblow. Really hope that your theory is wrong though because that is just devastate any dev's creditability because people have been supporting an update not a rewrite.
Think we are just at the wait and see stage though. If the update doesn't come by next month though we will be entering a year between updates and that is the redline for some supporters and while it wouldn't be as bad if the rewrite stuff happens I would expect a dramatic drop in support at least until new updates come in for a few update cycles. You of course will always have those that never cancel, but that is from forgetfulness or someone suffering from a sunk cost fallacy.

Let's not spread false information without confirmation. AFAIK, 0.10 is not a remake. In fact, he has not committed to doing a remake at all, and if he were to do so, he already said he'd be keeping the taboo elements:
Additionally, on the Discord, he had already stated back when things were blowing up that a remake would start AFTER 0.10 if it was to happen... with everything dying down, it's my opinion that it is unlikely that it will.

Hopefully this is the case.
But he did already retcon Emi to age her up, claiming it was about aesthetics when we all know it had to be about pressure from somewhere that was income-related. With there being precedent for changing well-established parts of the game I understand people's anxiety about more and more significant changes potentially being the explanation for the long delay.
The elephant in the room obviously being the story's family aspect, which has been the main target for the religious zealots over the last couple years, a coordinated campaign that shows not sign of abating because nobody in the dev world is actively fighting back. Increasing delays in new content absolutely serve to intensify worries that major revisions might be the cause of the delay. We have all seen it happen a LOT in recent updates of other games (family content excised after longer-than-usual delays).
But you are right that BaiBai should have the benefit of the doubt until the next update drops. And we can even hope that the delay somehow instead turns out to be part of a real pushback by a major dev against censorship.

I remember that once he was asked about a possible update date, and he said it would probably be around New Year, since with all the delays it would end up becoming an annual update. Hopefully that’s the case.
