I feel like I more agree than disagree but the main problem I see with one update a year no matter how good quality it is which the quality in my opinion is pretty damn good is at the moment each update = one in game day it would take literally decades for the game to be finished or more likely abandoned. I kinda see this game at the moment like GTA6 the wait is making me less interested and worried I could write an essay but most will get the idea.
Well if you do write an essay please break it up into paragraphs for readability.

i think that's totally reasonable i don't know what would have to change to get updates out faster bring on more people lower the quality of the content too ease work load im in no position to say the one positive i can give is the dev does talk to the community when a game is in a bad spot in my experience the communication is the first to go i haven't seen that yet so im inclined to give the dev some leeway

I don't really get this concern with how long the game will take to finish. I don't play this game to see the ending, I already know how it will end. It's obvious.
It's a harem game, he's gonna end up with a harem, I'm not exactly at the edge of my seat here wondering what will happen in the end.
I play for the journey, to see the how and to see the scenes and the characters interacting.
Because it's fun and hurrying it along artificially, decreasing quality just to get to the ending faster would defeat the point imo. The quality is what I'm here for, not the ending.
Personally I would be fine with one year intervals between updates. I'm not in a rush, I just want this game to not be abandoned.
But I don't think that's what baibai wants. He said himself that he needs his regular affirmations and it's not hard to see why. Things get really hostile on here after a few months and no update, it's not hard to see how that would sap someone's motivation eventually when that hostile period gets longer and longer as the updates take longer.
So I think the best course of action would be to just cut the days in half or even in third. Get updates out faster, keep positivity high.

We're running in circles, Baibai already talk about how this long periods of time between updates aren't doing it for him, when the update drops the goal would be to cut that dev time, I agree with someone here who said that witha few days where only one or two things happening would be good for pacing, maybe less demanding scenes and more simple or wholesome ones where not many renders are needed, since I believe one of the charms of the game is the routine of seeing every day gives the narrative flow a good structure. We can only hope Baibai has a plan for this and with enough feedback this game could keep going with healthier update realeses.

Problem with year long release schedules is that it almost never works for these kind of games. Only with overwhelming support like with Eternium can it work out. If a dev knows they don't need to release anything for a year then they almost always become lazy and then the deadline slips they grovel and the cycle continues.

The longer cycle also leads to patrons becoming disincentivized to continue support. Even as a 5 dollar patron for a yearly update release you are paying 60 dollars for a tiny piece of the game. As much as I like the story it simply wouldn't be worth the price of support. I also know that the majority of people here don't pay but many do and those are the ones that keep the projects alive. Someone has to after all.

I could see it being an honest estimate. I've done editing before for a novel and it takes a surprising amount of time to work through even 100k words if you're genuinely combing through every single sentence and taking the time to think about how to improve the wording and delivery and so on, and if you're doing long sessions then you just get slower and slower by the end of the session, like 7-10 hours on average for 100K words. I don't remember how many words this game has but depending on that it could end up taking 2-3 weeks (keep in mind this guy works on the game in his free time, mostly on weekends to my understanding).
This guy actually understands the issue:

Most of the "editing criticism" assumes it's just about spotting and correcting spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors - but that's just the fundamental starting point . . . Understand that the placement (or omission) of a comma can change the intended meaning of a sentence, or even a whole paragraph - and only the author can actually make that decision.

Avoiding the use of colloquialisms or contemporary cliches - unless the usage provides "flavor" for a character or the story - is a potential issue, and may not translate very well. Repetitive word usage or phrasing affects dialog or narrative "flow", and is just as distracting for many readers as any typo; which again requires the author to re-think what they want to say, the mood they're trying to create, or the way a particular character would respond.

Depending on enthusiasm or fatigue it could be a simple fix-on-the-fly, or take an hour to rewrite a single paragraph.

I don't think you understand the point of donating, you're not paying for a product, it's not like kickstarter where you can pay for the product and if you give more money you could get more stuff or like any retail store; the point of using patreon is to give your pocketchange or any amount or disposable income you don't need so that the people receiving that money can keep going with their current project and possiby do more in the future, that's how patronage works. Of course many awful devs take advantage of this so they slow as much as possible the workflow and the updates are thin in content. If what you want is to pay one time then just like any other game in the market you'll have to wait for the complete version.

Exactly, and it's even worse when you take in considerations how much pression for a perfect update Baibai strives for, not even acounting that life can be a bitch and working on your spare time get's even harder.
