If i were to hazard a guess, it would be because you shared the EX version, which is basically the version people get by paying for it. A non-EX version would likely not have caused much of an issue as those are to convince people to visit Patreon.

Personally, i assume everything i play has bugs in it, regardless if its version number is 1.3 or 0.00219a. Regardless though, there actually IS a mention that it's in beta right on the title screen:

"v33a is in a beta state, so play at your own risk"

You could turn it into a popup, but then people would get pissed over having to click an extra time.

There is. If you're playing a build with EX in it, it's either because you paid for it or it got leaked. If you want a relatively stable version, grab a copy without EX in it. It'll not have the shiny new features, but those that are there will have been tested.

Unaware was here giving active support, wasn't he? Same title screen even mentions that he's giving away game releases for free if anyone runs into a gamebreaking bug, which is ALSO in the News section of the game's title screen. So much for reading comprehension eh?

And the only thing he asked for in return is to not share it with anyone.
Its still a piracy forum.

Version: v32c BA Windows
For anybody interested in the cheats + addition dev features here you go:
replace your "Assembly-CSharp.dll" with the one i provided below.
About the Virus warning: its a false flag from 1 engine on VT which also triggers the same warning on the original dll.

Major updates (v30, v31, v32 etc.) add new features, and because I work alone and my game is open-world, I don't have time to spend hours testing every single thing I do, so I only test them in the prepared "closed" scenarios, thus bugs always happen. That's why I release Minor updates (v32a, v32b, v32c) as the part of the major update, and those are mainly hotfixes, but as I work on multiple things (to not get bored and to keep content flowing), I also add new content in the mentioned minor updates, coz I see no point in hoarding something that is ready, while instead I could make new major update more attractive and earn more $$$ this way.

I won't win with piracy, but I'm not gonna waste my time on providing support on F95, if people here won't even know (coz they don't care reading) that they are playing early-beta versions that are supposed to be riddled with bugs and are in testing phase. Most pirates simply see a game, download it, play, and then come shitting on the devs, coz it's unplayable (check every big game that got leaked before being released, and see how people shit on those games). My patrons are fully aware of the bugs being part of major releases, coz people tend to read before paying for something.
I too believe that its very ineffective to "provide support" on F95, especially for a one man team. You are bascially working as a community manager but 100 times more taxing on your mental because you are the dev. A "middle man" could be less stressed handling piracy and negative feedback since they are not the one directly working on the game. Discord with a bug reporting section would be a lot more effective for collecting bugs. Theres no doubt F95zone can be beneficial for your game, but you need a person with the right mindset to handle this and its very inefficient for a solo dev to take this role.

However, I want to add that even tho your supporters know that the early alpha beta... updates are buggy, it does not mean they won't feel frustrating when they encounter bugs. Your supporters could be supporting you because they like your game while they hate the buggy early releases at the same time. Theres a game I support which have multiple releases for one update until they release a "final" version of the update with most of the bugs fixed. I'm often impatient and download the buggy early releases to ruin my experience. Sometimes I ask myself if I should lower my support tier or even stop supporting even though I really like the game. It honestly doesnt feel good to pay to be a bug tester.

Well, and I see a few. Game is hard, I know, but balanced around BA version and many of my patrons don't use cheats despite having access to them. It's a bonus feature, not a way it's meant to be played. Anyway, one of the reasons is people breaking their saves beyond repair and reporting non-existent bugs, while they will always go with "I didn't do anything". Majority of people don't have a clue about how programming or games work, they don't read annotations either, and thus many will use your cheat on non-compatible versions as well, or with dev mode choose broken dialogue options that should be never triggered and then bye-bye working save. I've done it a million times already. Before I was treating bug reports with a grain of salt due to the existence of the cheat engine, and now I will have to do it with a full glass of it or rather ignore them altogether on this forum. Thanks, as if trying to fix all the bugs and dealing with false reports wasn't a hell already for a single dev.
cheats allow people to find more bugs as they have access to endgame content sooner, also cheats allow more people to play the game, some people (like myself) have a life, and a job, and family, and friends, and I can't waste 6 hours of my time grinding to access to jerk material that is probably a 10th of the jerkoffableness meter compared to some games like "Emblem Knightess Nord" which has practically zero grind, and the way the game plays, you can literally see porn in the second fight unless you get "good" bad rng
also with bugs, only fix gamebreaking ones (gamebreaking ones including softlocking, loss of progress, be it small or large) or annoying bugs, don't worry immediately about the small bugs, but keep them in mind as they can stack up also you chose to make a game, while (I hope) knowing fully well what might happen (pirates and the like)

Enjoy bugs, lads! I'm officially leaving support for F95. Hopefully good hero paw_beans will take care of answering and explaining all the problems you might encounter from now on. Cheers!
Yeah, and you are fully aware of v33 still being in "beta" phase, and thus pretty bugged. And as always, I keep working on the latest major release until I believe it's playable, and then I officially announce that I leave the support. v32 reached "c", v31 reached "d", while v30 is the record holder with "l" suffix. And v33 is still in "a", so make a guess.
I totally get how annoying the thought of seeing reviews complaining of a "buggy game" would be when that's based on a leaked unstable build. As a fellow developer, yeah, that would infuriate me.

The whole "ending support" thing, I don't really get where you're coming from or what you even mean by it. I don't know what support is supposed to mean. It's not like you provide a personalized service, and bug reports here don't just become invalid. Duplicate bug reports can be annoying, sure, but it's not like you would ignore a non-duplicative bug report until a Patron reported it as opposed to an f95 user simply out of spite--that wouldn't be a sane development strategy. Or do you mean you will stop interacting with f95 entirely? That's sounds like a lose-lose proposition in that you aren't going to stop the leaks (if anything, you encourage more of them) but you will lose, or at least severely weaken, an important marketing venue.

For sure though, it's important that builds like these are appropriately labelled to guard against people forming the premature opinions.

I really don't get why so many of you exist here. It's like going to a BBQ no one invited you to attend and then complaining about everyone eating meat because you're a vegetarian and it offends you.

And even more stupidly ironic is whining to pirates about pirating as if they would genuinely care without at least even acknowledging the degree of nuance existing in piracy, finite as it is.

Frankly accounts that flatly complain about piracy like you did should get temp or permanent bans and told to go elsewhere so we can be done with it, as it serves no purpose and makes zero sense.

From what I understand, SOMETIMES the creator's wishes are upheld here, but it's a very "case by case" then and even from my experience lurking before I created this account, we more commonly just ignore them.

If you're such a saint you really should just delete your account and leave.

While I get how annoying all the complaining can be, this is a him problem, not an us problem. He decides how he wants to handle bugs and subsequent reports, and I'd imagine there are enough dumb people in the world that you're going to get complaints even for something clearly labeled a beta.

It's like needing to have a thick skin if you're a public content creator of any kind, because people while hate on you for no reason other than to get a reaction or just because they're naturally bitter and spiteful, so if you let it get to you you'll crumble quick.

That whole post was a melodramatic, but whatever. I actually prefer it when devs stay out of the forums.
