Filling the thread with unnecessary details that 99% of users who would make such posts won't even bother to read is an effort in futility. The people who come into threads and complain about MTL don't even try the games before they start shitposting. Filling the OP with unnecessary details just uglies up the thread. The sheer fact that most uploaders have adopted putting MTL in the language section of the OP is a courtesy. It is not a rule, we don't HAVE to do it. We do so in an attempt to stop the constant whining and even then it didn't do much.

Long story short, nothing I put in the OP is going to make those people play the game or honor the translators work. The people who are truly interested in the end product either already know or have enough foresight to see the thread was updated with a new translation. The ones who don't aren't going to pay attention regadless.

That is just my opinion on the subject. I am sure my colleague have their own takes on it.
There are already precedents for disclaimers about unavoidable NTR and what not. It's true anyone with enough sense could figure out what the deal is with the translation history, but we as a community should try to support people who contribute to it with playable translations by making it known that any flack about the translation was not aimed at them. That's my take on it.

Some text is not translated at all, even though I can't find it in the files anymore, because Translator++ is apparently encoding everything in Unicode, which makes Japanese text look like this: \u598a\u5a20\u51e6\u7406\u81ea\u4f53 etcetera.
I'm not sure what your problem is. Since jq writes proper unicode text and not escape sequences. Use this one-liner: for i in *.json;do cat <<< "$(jq --sort-keys<${i})">"${i}";done maybe it helps. You only need bash coreutils and jq.

The untranslated text he is referring to is stored in variables in RPGM MV. like \v[2] is the variable for Alertness (I think) Translator++ doesn't see variables thus he can't translate them with that program. The program is designed to search for plain text segments and extracts them leaving the majority of the game code alone. the variables are part of the ignored segments of T++ thus you can't actually translate them with it.

I fixed the problem a bit earlier on the previous page.

In the dev note :Soft H events are included on the map involving gangbang, NTR, impregnation.

I think it the first time that i seen gangbang in a list of soft porn ;)

Maybe it's just me, but any time a sex scene plays I get a Fail to Load Error for the sound effects. Pressing the retry button fixes for a moment, but anyone got any idea on how to troubleshoot this?

Some tweaks. I hope they don't break anything.
  • Translated the chapter titles that are stored in variable 1 for some reason.
  • Time of day translated
  • Font resizing
    • Dialog, popups etc. there probably will be some alignment issues idk.
    • Confinement and training information should fit the screen now.
    • Status menu font changed from 24 to 14. Should be less of a mess.
  • Translated the event descriptions on the calendar, PC etc. Modified EventInformation.js to not split from whitespaces.
  • (Google) Translated the nasty junior's name
Edit: Fixed Escape chance translation

I think it might have to do with some oddly named sound effect files, but I have no idea how to fix this. Anyone got any idea on how to troubleshoot this?

Looking at my issue further, the loading error looked something like this:

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

When I deleted the se folder to see what the other sound errors looked like, they pointed to the name of the file (ex: audio/se/EG-button.og), but these errors for the sex/harassment scenes give off the above gibberish instead of a file name. If I replace a se file with the above, it doesn't change anything. With the constant interruption the game feels almost unplayable.

This is a locale issue, you either aren't using a locale emulator, or didn't extract the game with Japanese encoding. the files showing like that is because your computer doesn't recognize the characters so replaces it with garbled nonsense like that. Sound and image files are the most commonly impacted by locale issues. It is very common and pretty much a user side issue.

The problem imo is that the "edited tl" label means absolutely nothing. It could either mean that it's an actual good translation or it could just be MTL but the text is fixed to not go beyond the screen. Maybe have 1 more line in the OP that's edited to be like "Edited by XXX - [Date]"
This. I have seen edited mtl that was just well... just plain MTL. Other times it was a perfect translation with no error I could see. Games from native speakers here had more errors than that.

Thanks, I'll see if I can change a few things to fix this on my end.
