Disgruntler Any chance you are going to implement an auto-save function into the game? Had the unfortunate case a few times that the game crashed for me and lost long times of progression due to personal lazynmess - I know, don't say it
But an auto-save every couple opf days would be nice

Bruh there's an auto save every day.
You can find the saves to the left of the other slots when loading.

questions about a stock photo in a stock photo... um... er...

Google Image search tries to say that's Marilyn Monroe, but that is not an image from her nude photoset that I could see, so that's not likely it. Doesn't really look like her.

Dunno. Stock photo is stock I guess.

No! I will not be implimenting an autosave feature! At no point will I ever consider adding anything convenient regarding the saving of games! because it was done before i took it on teehee

It's all good. I thought it was funny!

Regarding Autosave: So long as you successfully get to the day summary after the work period, it will have successfully autosaved it for you. If it crashes/hangs at the end of work day before that summary though, it will not have autosaved successfully.

If you are on linux you can add Venus's Club as a non steam game and force it to start with proton, I use the ge build, everything works fine on my machine this way even videos with strange codecs and windows fonts, remember to escape " ' " and spaces in the TARGET line of your steam entry.
ex. TARGET in steam options:
/home/username/Games/Venus/Vanilla/Venus\'s\ Club.exe

I thought I was playing a female protagonist right up until Nicole mentioned the PCs erection lol, lowkey disappointed. I don't know how much work it would be to give us the option of choosing our gender but it would be nice. Historically most brothels have been run if not owned by women.

I'd have to remake how dialog works from scratch in order to allow for gendered replacements, and then do the same for lessons which would really... realllly... muck about with lessons and girlpack creators.

Game was originally made for male power fantasy. Nothing I can do about that.

With that said, a sapphic variant of the game would not be unwelcome.

I suspected as much, I shall just ignore Nicoles dialogue and pretend my character is me prancing around in the bunny costume then lol.

Would there be a way to bypass that issue? Not for a moment suggesting you actually do this but given that as far as I can remember the only thing that genders your character is the dialogue with Nicole could you have the choice of Nicole (Male Path) Other Mission Giver (Female Path)?

I mean I haven't put real work in it in a minute.

And yeah, it's basically the Nicole stuff and lessons. And I haven't ever touched the Nicole stuff since I took over, except to provide a way to open her all the way to the end and buff her so she's useful.

Thanks for replying, I'm glad this game is still being worked on.

Once you get through the initial tutorial stuff, the only benefit of progressing with Nicole is to unlock all of her categories during the work nights. I think there might be a Nicole Aniston pack on Scutterhut that allows you to see that pornstar just as a normal girlpack without having to unlock everything by going on dates.

I was pretty surprised at how tight and responsive the controls were, for something that's not at all the main focus of the game.

Incidentally, I might have said this before, but I really wish the default clips that play when you have nothing in a folder had a folder of their own, so players could swap them out or add to them just like any other girlpacks.

This is already on my 'things to maybe do maybe if I ever restart development maybe, possibly' list.

Hell, I'd even settle for an option to let players set one of the girls on your staff as the source for default clips, if that would be easier to code. I'd take pretty much anything over the drab, faceless clips we're stuck with.

It wouldn't actually be -that- hard to do. Just have to move the videos from the compressed resources to uncompressed side folder, easy.

Easy enough that you could do it as an "official mod" (just drop the altered assembly dll as an attachment here) instead of a full update?
