I dont think nobody cares. I think a member base has to build from what a developer does. So provide a good storyline, graphics is one. But, certainly at the beginning, regular updates of the game and his/her own site/patreon or something and build some sort of fanbase. The last years a lot of developers didnt finish games or left without news after a couple of updates.
Look for instance at a game i think called Estate ?? or something like that. Some crazy femdom game with amazing graphs and a bit weird fetish storyline. Has not been updated for almost a year now, but still has a rather large fanbase.
Dont dispare, every beginning is hard. Invest in your game, storywise, language,graphs, updates and promote it with wallpapers, answering fan input on patreon, etc and it will rise a bit.
And don't think you will earn easy money...
