It freezes because it cannot load the vegetation and it's constantly printing out errors. The same thing was happening if you don't have Visual C++ Redist on Windows or if you have old drivers.

So what is a solution for it on the Mac? Do I have to download something else?

It's a setup that installs all of the required files in order to run the game properly.

hmmm...the main screen says that it v. 1.7.0 and the ending advertisement says 1.6. Interesting. Anyone have the changelog? I'm not seeing anything different.

I was successfully able to hunt once I paid attention to the dialog that told me to try for head shots. Foolish me was trying to hit them in the lungs like IRL bow hunting. If you spook one in just the right place, they might run in circles kinda like a carousel or merry go round.

That's a bug we are currently working on, it should be fixed when playing the next build.
