I'm very curious too about that (and a lot skeptic). Till now the only "optimal" result (first with rift cv1 and actually with rift s) with VAM (no more crashes, unless I pretend too much with collisions issues) is to clean away anything steam-related: having 2 VR runtimes (oculus+steamVR) conflicting was for sure not the best approach to VAM VR. Was trying also to give admin priviledge to steam runtime (AND with manual start option selected in computer management <services>) as many vam users were proposing, that choice was giving at least some positive results. Then as I was not interested in playing other VR games, I was definitively unistalling steam vr. That's concerning just oculus stuff.
