Can you tell me more about this?
how does one setup a scene? and I am asuming it's an animation file you connect to the scene?
where do you download the animations?

I'm going to type up a guide to using VMDPlay. I originally paid for ZHFX's version, but he trickled out updates and it has a lot of catch up to do to even come close to VMDPlay functionality. I unsubbed. VMDPlay supports lips, multiple characters, and camera animations. The only downside is lack of controlling the player from animation triggers, but honestly I don't need it. I'll post a guide by tomorrow. TLDR; VMDPlay is free and full featured, ZHFX's vmd plugin is a DRM'd cash grab.

I just took a look seems to work well,

Quick start if you can't wait for a full guide:
First Install latest BepinEx to VAM folder, available on github
Install the file that was linked
Before running the game rename VaM_Data/Managed/Mono.Cecil.dll to Mono.Cecil.bak or similar to enable BepinEx.
Load a person atom, load the included plugin to it and then load up a file from the plugin ui. Should work a treat.

Found the details on a JP forum where the files came from (I think). (can't post links sorry)

Dear heroes, does it happens that someone of you have the DillDoe.Medusa.var file? I have already the common files (the one in save and in custom) but it seems that the DillDoe.Lara.1.var package needs the medusa var file as dependency which is not in the dilldoe's yiff nor any place on the web. I'd like to see the red error log perfectly clean, otherwise my OCD will make me delete the beloved lara character.

Your kind help will be much appreciated.

okay i'll guide how to use this.
actually it's not plugin. it's unity patcher(BepinEx)

first you need to put BepinEx (i already attach this post.)
and put a VAMVMDPlayPlugin into vam folder

and like lilt09 says, change the name of VaM_Data/Managed/Mono.Cecil.dll to Mono.Cecil.bak or something else.
directory is something like this

VAM (root) /
VaM_Data /
Managed /
Mono.Cecil.bak <- rename from Mono.Cecil.dll
...
...
BepInEx /
plugins /
VAM_VMDPlayPlugin /
VaMVMDPlayPlugin.dll
MMD4URuntime.dll
FaceData_sample.txt
config /
VAM_VMDPlayPlugin.cfg (it created when first run)
...
Custom /
Scripts /
VAMVMDPlayPlugin /
VAMVMDPlayUI.cs

after all, run the vam and load default scene or something you want.
press "Ctrl"+ "Shift"+ "V" to bring control pannel.
select the character you want to apply, and click the off button to active.
than find .VMD file and sound if need.
than play it.
also, you need to change the setting for frame rate problem.

SoftBodyPhysics - off
Pysics Rate - 90 or 120
Pysics Update Cap - 2 or 3

also, you can change other settings to fit scales

this item's source is japanese vam forum

Oh sh*t, might explain the few problems I get. Like I have sometimes 4 dupes. But no reflink error from what I opened.
Earlier I posted a small script I did in Python to process vars (sorting, checking deps, ..). But not any comparison with old style dirs cause.. it's such a mess in my Vam dirs  I can't understand the logic if any. There's probably not much to do to compare both dirs, I'll have a look. Or reinstall and only download vars..
I have been using Clonespy for dupe check since it has a database to store the hashes so rechecking the same files is faster then rehashing all those 500k files every time. If you do pickup the torch and make an awesome “deduper var manager”, please make a database for hashes. I tried so many synchronize and compare progs that waste time not having a database for faster checks. I have to use many progs just to trim dupes. Even got a prog to remove empty directories vacuum + varbsorb sometimes leave behind. I had to use a stock VAM install to fix most issues. Last var I made had 1000 looks for vam legacy files and vacuum kept adding male textures to the girls. I temp removed all male assets then ran vacuum and it fixed all looks correctly since it had no males to pollute the girl’s ref links. Made it into a var and got nice tight small var file of 1000 looks.

Well I do know you can remove all custom folders from the Morph assets so you only need female, female gen, male and male gen folders and everything works. But the clothing and hair need the folders so I cannot remove the checksum dupes. I haven’t bother to find out why they need the folder structure to work. It seems vacuum and varbsorb only work with json files for updating not scripts. For regular maintenance I exclude all male asset folder from dupe checker when scanning for female files then swap for male scanning. They usually share dupe names both male and female assets but is needed unless changing all json ref links and assets by hand for one unique file target.

I couldn't get it working following the guide, because CTRL+SHIFT+V won't work until the plugin is ACTUALLY run the first time (it generates it on first run). And then it's still irrelevant because the config it generates does not have that shortcut assigned.

Here's how I got it working (bear in mind I followed the guide initially):

Make sure you copy doorstop_config.ini AND winhttp.ini from the BepInex folder AS WELL.

These two files sit in your Vam root directory (the one with vam.exe), this is super important!

copy.PNG

Follow the rest of the instructions, like copying the VamVmd plugin and renaming mono.cecil.dll to whatever.

Fire up VaM and load Custom\Scripts\VAMVMDPlayPlugin\VAMVMDPlayUI.cs as a plugin on an atom.

If everything is done right, you should see this once you load the plugin (not the bald chick, she's just a test character for clothes porting, your character won't go bald):

success.PNG

Now, once this is done and working, it'll generate a config file under Vam\BepInex\Config\VAM\VAM_VMDPlayPlugin.cfg

Then you can manually edit it to change shortcut keys or whatever you want (I didn't bother, I just do everything from the plugin screen).

Animbros: I think a VMD (or just the 'Play' funtion) with this plugin can be triggered by selecting the 'Add VMDPlayScene Atom' option, which kinda does what it says but I haven't played with it at all. I only mention this because someone said they couldn't trigger a VMD to start with the plugin.

FYI this is done with the latest version of VaM: 1.20.1.4 Beta

AND BE AWARE: the plugin is buggy is fuck, you will have weird mesh, bone and other issues that even a hard reset wont solve. If you have weird shit happen just restart VaM

I can't guide you with that unfortunately, VMD seems to be like hens teeth in the west (or maybe I just don't know where to look, most likely).

But I did get a decent Chika Fujiwara dance from Some uploads have a link to the vmd, some do not. But it's somewhere to start I guess.

If you find a good repository let me know

I had this problem before too, if you click VMDEnabled off in the plugin it tends to fix it then just turn it back on.

There's a bunch of VMD motions with audio that come with Waifu Sex Simulator if you want a big pack. Free at vrporn.com
