At some point law enforcement was mentioned but there's no clear answer on that disco, or at least none you can find w/o reading every message there. Most likely why that guy was trying to bait ya'll into searching for him.

Some jackass got the devs computer taken away via false reports to law enforcement. if memory serves, it was going on for a while. no idea where the dick came from who decided to fuck with the dev.

As of yesterday everything in their discord has been deleted and this is the only message. They were starting on a new game and had posted some previews but I guess something happened again.

Update on this, that message was replaced by a pic of a new outfit, but no accompanying text. At least seems to suggest there will be something more?

Thing is even with all the documentation on internet anonymity/privacy practices. Most people don't properly practice it, and with everything ontop of websites, platforms, etc harvesting more and more personal data on people. Practicing privacy is very difficult now days, and with authorities immediately acting on tips instead of gathering proper data... Honestly the ass hat who made the false report should be put in a cell. But we all know the fucker will probably get off scott free, because of some bullshit.

Hell the jackass that made the false report probably was stalking the dev for years for all we know, like some full on deranged stalker type shit with some personal head canon vendetta and just correlated random bits of information to find out who the dev is... People really should be careful on the internet ngl.

I've started using an excess data method, to make harvested data worthless.

Honestly VPNs only cover your ass when practicing proper OpSec, but even a basic supena breaks a VPN. It's all about threat actors. Like if you're dealing with some nutcase stalker like for this Dev, or if you actually have a State threat actor.
Some people opt to treat all possible actors as a threat.
If you really wanna hide your real identity on the internet, i recommend going through all sites like whitepages and issuing a request to have your data removed. since you recently tarted practicing Privacy/Anonymity, it's likely you're already plastered somewhere. Even when you apply for credit cards etc, there are data brokers for financial data like Experion etc. the really big data brokers will flat out ignore your requests tho.

May even be good to silently start flushing old forum posts of old information about you on the places you've posted about yourself, silently replacing words is the quiet way that would go unnoticed if done. could also opt to replace information with random bullshit to make harvested data useless if it gets parsed with real data.

Sadly there isn't data broker removal services where I live, so I focus on removing my tracking online like you said, but it's been an absolute pain.

So I just use VPN + FingerPrinting Evasion, switching to Linux is on my list but Windows is the king when it comes to software compatibility.

This should give a much more comprehensive depth in making yourself private/anonymous
It actually gets pretty deep in practicing anonymity, some extremes are using I2P/Tor to even make yourself looking like a random node while tunneling through it like a store of DIY VPN. Tho prevent Tor from having an exit node for other Tor users, gov likes getting a bit nasty here in the states over it even tho it's not illegal.
If you get a chance tho read up on cyber security, it's good when practicing privacy/anonymity
