"i'm actually not even anywhere close to finishing the update so heres an excuse so i can buy myself anther month before i need yet another excuse"

if the updates is done and up, i would love to see "more" content. its been so long, but guess what? i dont pay him for the game so i dont really ahve the "rights" to be mad or whatever.

Finally somebody with sense.
It's no wonder most devs don't visit or post on this board direct any more. Everybody just complains about how long updates take on the game that 99%+ are contributing absolutely nothing towards making.
If you contribute then go complain on Patreon or whatever otherwise I'd rather not have to scroll through constant whining to get to a decent conversation.

You and the person you quoted seem to be under a misconception that on Patreon "if you pay, you have the right to complain". The way things stand, even if Irphaeus were to actually "owe" somebody something, it would be on an ethical level at best.
Please stop using this as an argument, it dies a cringeworthy death the moment you understand how Patreon operates. Even "tired of everyone complaining" is a stronger argument than that.

Git is free and takes an hour to setup tops (And that's only if you have no idea what you are doing and have to Google everything. Otherwise it's a matter of minutes. )
Source control is a good idea even if you are working alone on a project, just for backup reasons.
But working on a multi-person project without source control? Insanity.

i was his patron until he started milking people. i frontloaded every single update in the past 2 years, so i guess i do have the right to complain, dont i? i also have the right to use my own stupidity as a cautionairy tale to educate others not to give this dev a dime, and i also have the right to use my prior experience with them to sarcastically make fun of their continuous excuses why they have to delay the update this time, dont i?

i can promise you right now alot of his patrons don't realize or even know their subbed to him.. thats the thing with sites like patreon alot of people sub and just forgot.. and these people never check their banking statements Lol then theres a good chunk of people subbed to many people so they don't actually follow up on who their subbed to and just wait for an email notification instead, so for example if their subbed to like 15 different people and they don't actually keep updated with news and etc they just keep cycling through whats ever been updated recently while not really noticeing that maybe one or three people their subbed to might not have even made any updates in 1 year or more. then others are just die hard fan boys that have succumb to "sunken cost fallacy" i mean some of them have payed more then $500 now they're in so deep they have no choice but to hold on to the hope they didn't just waste that kinda money on a silly porn game, some people are just too silly to cut their loses and save money in the long run
and for people that can't believe people would sub and just forget oh it happens
this guy literally subbed to me then never signed in after that (didn't even cancel) its what people do...
so let this be a Public service reminded READ YOUR BANK STATEMENTS PEOPLE, and cancel stuff you aren't actually using

But seeing someone really forgot about what they subs and never knew if they still subs for "something" That long and they never even use or seeing its kinda hilarious
On my prev reply is mostly just questioning the Patron that still subscription even know if the update is still delay that long (and knowing how short the gameplay in last update)
Nice reminder tho, sometime I forgot only once atleast about my subs but still got notifications about it and cancel it for next month
You can't get a decent conversation because there's no new content to converse about. Therefore, others who'd like to have a decen conversation too, complain about the actual reason they're not getting it.

You must be so excited))) What the hell are you talking about?! Even if you don't pay, you are a potential buyer and you can criticize anything, but with healthy criticism, not sick. And yes, when you criticize the case, it pays off. For example, people learn about an unscrupulous developer who deceives his patrons, i.e. without criticizing, you let such unscrupulous developers grow. And this affects not only developers, but also manufacturers of a particular product. Or will you be glad when you come to the store, and you will be deceived, with the expectation, with the price and so on? I don't think you'll be happy. And everyone understands perfectly well that such developers decided to play scammers and they succeed, because when they generated a grain of trust, and now they are successfully spending it trying to raise more money and not provide the goods. Once again, criticism should be justified and from any person, whether you pay or not, it will decide what the product will be and whether it will be.
