Short answer: we don't know.
A longer answer: The estimates given out of previous versions were exactly that - rough estimates - but were not perceived or treated as such by the community. Think of it like "its probably gonna be around mid of the month" and then everyone and their mother asks why it isn't there yet on the 15th. I mean, even i would say that the last update being delayed over and over was the fault of the developers, and the shit they got for it somewhat deserved.
But it's been bad every time, it didn't matter which update, and therefore they decided to not give out any more estimates unless they are really, really precise and easy to hit. Which means, we won't get any date unless its only days away.
So some of us think that it could be released end of february or march, but we do not know.

Honey Select has no extra rendering, everything is real time. You can compare it with modded Skyrim. There are many mods that change the look of the game directly and then you also have things like ReShade. Photoshop is probably also used at the end.

City of Broken Dreams Dev post : Now its been almost 2 months, about a week shy I think, but we are sitting at 599 renders with number 600 cooking while I am writing this. Along with that are now 39 animations

I thought about that too. I was a patron for more than half a year, then i had to cancel it for personal financial reasons. Im glad that its not gone, thats all. When i have the possibility i would like to return being a patron ,cause i really like this game. Despite the relatively slow developing, but as lokng as we get a quality update im willing to wait even a year.
Anyone else love this lazy bastard? Man his life must be easy.

Back in November the chap said he was 65% done with the update after working on it for less than 2 months. Over 3 months later and I guess that last 35% is proving a challenge...

The limit of your interaction with the creator is: You give him money or you don't. From your comments I extrapolate that you do not. That leaves you with the amazing total of no options at all. You can't even deprive him of a symbolic amount of cash per month. You are nothing in this scenario, no shame in admitting that.

Waifu Academy fits a very particular niche, people happen to like it for that and are willing to put up with the wonky update schedule. I am obviously one of those who greatly enjoys what is on offer here, no point lying about it. It offers high quality renders, quite a bit of content, odd humor, and some truly nice aesthetics. As in, the characters are not only well rendered but very good looking and while they (of course) are unrealistically attractive, it never strays into anatomical bizarro world triple Z cup and 4' dongs. I have seen too many truly hideous goblins gloriously rendered, and that is more off putting than anything.
Bottom line, there is a lot to like here, and the one objective flaw (the others mostly being personal, subjective "not for me" kinda quibbles) in the project, the schedule, has been pointed out countless times. Please, contribute. Constructively.
