This is all true. But that goes right to the heart of what I am saying.my friend, i must disagree, in order to make viable the figths in this game you need to spend time making potions, dinner and farming ingredients there is a functional skill progression, if you make potions it would progress from trash tier potions (recovery 100) to superior tier (recovery 300), the same with the spells the more you uses them the stronger they get, and when you explore whit Eric you obtain 15 golds almost guaranted, while i admit that in the early parts of the game you get destroyed if you are not careful, its realistic taking into acount that you are a beginner warlock.
Let's think about it -- What does everything you just mentioned actually involve?
- Farming the one farmable tile. Over and over.
- Selling ingredients at the shop. Over and over.
- Reading the same dialogue. Over and over.
- Wasting the money on insufficient supplies that don't enable you to explore.
- Wasting the money on food. The hunger system doing literally nothing other than wasting your time.
- Fighting slimes. Over and over.
- Eventually use these shitty, over-expensive items to kill the slime boss.
- Back to farming the same tile over and over. Used up all my money killing the slime boss.
- Sell ingredients at the shop. Over and over.
- Rinse and repeat.
Once I get to that point that you mentioned, I will indeed be better situated to explore. I will also have pissed away half a fucking real-life day doing literally nothing, and the biggest most cardinal sin of all: I probably wont have seen any boobs.
If this game were some harvest moon titty fest with added sorcery I would be out singing its praises, but it's not. There's clearly some intent to make it something like that. The reason people like those games, despite the grind inherent in those games, is because the grind itself is fun. Here it simply is not. And there has been no attempt made in 2 years to improve that situation.
