Game is decent enough IMO. What I personally feel REALLY sucks, is the *illusion* that this is an incest game. That tag is easily applied. Even if barely nothing in the game backs it up.
Sure, you can 'define relationship' with the young lady, step-daughter, daughter, whatever. But what good does that do, when SHE refers to her "dad" by name 99% or so of the time. A daughter/son referring to their parent by NAME, is ...well not very common. I guess if the kid is really pissed off maybe? lol

But again, overall, decent game. But definitely not a game "family fun" lovers should get hyped about. It has the TAG, but the dialogue etc in the game, barely even hints at a daughter/dad relationship. Defining relationship is in other words, pretty pointless. Instead of making her the MC's daughter, you might as well make her "MC's neighbor's sister's cousin's colleague's niece". It makes zero difference.

Anywho, that's it, I'm done ranting for now lol. Agree, disagree, whatever. But just imagine if Chloe used the 'relation' to adress the MC instead of mc-name. That alone would make things way more 'believable' when it comes to this particular "tag".
I don't remember this being the case at all. It's only when using an old save with this current version that it reverts back. I don't have enough skill to go into the console and change certain things to =true but I assume that would work.

EDIT: I just looked at two saves and it seems to vary. Pretty inconsistent. This is the last version btw because 0.5 has very few working saves for me and I'm not starting over without a walkthrough and the very first scene with Chloe in this version does indeed have her calling the MC by name.

(this post as a whole might make your head spin and hurt, you've been warned, lol) ;)
Early on she calls the MC "dad", without us even having to input relations (I think). I have just scimmed thru the actual script file of the game. Looking at dialogues where Chloe adresses the MC. In the beginning, when they're still at that cabin or whatever, I think it was a cabin of sorts. It's been so long so I dont remember and I'm sure as hell aint restarting this game. So I'm looking at the script and dialogues. That part of the game, she mostly says "Dad".
But after that it's almost exclusively [mc_name] That is btw, the actual variable for MC's name, whether you named him Mike, or Dumbledore or whatever, so when you see your name in a dialogue the script in this case uses [mc_name] to 'pull' the name you named the protagonist. So early on, when Chloes calls him Dad, that is literally "Dad" in the script, no variable, just the dev intentionally writing Dad, not stepdad or [relation/name] just "dad" pure and simple.
Example of one the first or so interaction with Chloe in the game, how it looks in the scriptfile: (i'll put it in spoilers to not make this post stupid long lol)

And I believe the next example is still the same part of the game, as it's somewhere after them fishing:

Somewhat early in 0.5 (obvious mini spoilers if you havent played 0.5)

And one last example from somewhat early on in the game I believe, so this shouldn't be a spoiler for anyone I hope, in this spoiler I'll just resort to showing a pic instead of code as I think I've shown enough of the script literally making Chloe adress him by name (Note, just for this example I renamed the MC to "MC")

This might've been the most pointless 'comment' I've ever made, or maybe not lol.
At the end of the day, it's not really super important. But if the dev/game tries to flirt with the whole 'incest' tag, it's not doing a very good job. I mean, if the 'daughter' calls her 'dad' by name, you really dont get the impression that even if/when they bang, it's incest.
But it still makes me wonder why the dev basically hardcoded her saying "Dad" the first few lines in the game when adressing the MC. And then switch to calling him by name. Can't really say that "oh the dev is afraid of Patreon" or whatever, because he is STILL using "Dad" in the very early part of the game.

Perhaps there's a line somewhere in the game where they say something like "oh she's my step-daughter" or something like that. But that happens rarely, if at all, making it have almost no impact of the 'vibe'.
For a while, I just figured, hey maybe they're trying to pretend to the others, that they're not related (including step-relation) just to not show off some sort of weakness or whatever.
I found one line in the script that refers to her as stepdaughter:
"mc "You've got one minute to apologize to my stepdaughter - unless you want to lose your other arm.""
So it is mentioned at least once (probably a few more times but I can't be arsed to search the entire script, my point is made) that she's his stepdaughter. (a quick search the word "stepdaughter" appears a total of ONE time in the ENTIRE script. Not counting potential "step-daughter" and other spellings/variations)
But again, she seems to be a stepdaughter that calls him "Dad"early on, which I assume is what she's been doing before the game started as well then. Why the sudden change to calling him by name. Like I said, to make any sense of it, I would just have to pretend that they're intentionally hiding from others, that they're 'related'.

Again, this was probably a pointless and meaningless post, but I had nothing better to do at the moment, so I figured, why not dive into the script and take a look. And yes, *almost* the entire game(so far) it's [mc_name] and not dad or something relation-based when Chloe adresses him.

So in *my* opinion, I still say, that if anyone's here for the 'incest' part of the game, they'll be disappointed. EVEN if you deem step-relations to be incest, AND they eventually f-ck, nothing leading up to it feels like actual incest. So again, her calling him dad or something along those line, would "sell" the idea of incest more. Now it just feels like a trick to pull in "fans of incest games" without really giving it.

I'm sure not everyone calls their stepmom/dad, mom/dad, but do indeed call them by name. But that aint the case here. She started the game, and most likely prior to the game, calling him dad.

Is this important? Nah. Just saying that it feels a bit misleading to claim this has or will have incest. As the game doesn't really give you even a pinch of that 'vibe', mainly due how Chloe adresses her 'stepdad' after the first few minutes of gameplay. Most important thing is if the game's good. And it's..decent enough imo. But this was about a certain tag. Just saying, as someone is bound to throw a hissyfit because I "diss" their favorite game lol. I'm NOT dissing anything here

Hopefully this wasn't too much of a slog to get thru

That could be a possibility, I guess
Not sure what that would change though. Other than removing the weird change from Chloe: "Hi dad" to Chloe: "Hi 'mc_name'"
Unless the dev intends to completely remove any traces of incest, but then he (I assume it's a he) would really have to rewrite parts of the background, the intro, and a few lines deeper into the game.

I'm curious if the dev himself intended for the game to have incest, or if it's just a F95-thing.

LOL holy crap. I wasn't expecting all that. But I guess it was those few variables and me having a hard time retaining specifics sometimes, that made me think it was always "dad"

that part 0.5 was literally when I turned it off. And now it's kinda disheartening because I thought starting over would fix it but this obviously isn't the case.

GREAT story, but if it's written as an incest story, it has to be consistent or it drags me out.
Like who would she honestly be if not the daughter?

You don't happen to know how to change that mid-game do you? Loading a previous save(a few actually work) reverts it back to step daughter and I don't feel like starting over without a walkthrough mod.
I don't know if that can be done.

No answer?
The dev ran a patreon poll asking what people wanted and all the swinging/sharing content won pretty much, so I'm sure It's only a matter of time before the dev says screw it and adds ntr because the girls are already doing/done stuff with other guys already might as well have them stolen later by possibly one or more of those guys and have even more stuff happen to them.

So in short you might get it later.

Alright I guess enough people have complained about this that I'll post this one public now:
(Update 10/13 - The Dev fixed the majority of the missing "Dad", but did still miss a few, as well as removed a couple early references using the word daughter)

Wasteland Guardians Unofficial Fan MoreDad iPatch v1.2
(For WG v0.6)
- Chloe always calls the MC "Dad" (Except when they are intentionally pretending to be not related)
- Slightly increases the amount of familial references
- Fixes a few minor English issues

And then because someone asked me to, I took things a bit further too and made another patch...

Wasteland Guardians Unofficial Fan StepRemover iPatch v1.2
(For WG v0.6)
- Chloe always calls the MC "Dad" (Except when they are intentionally pretending to be not related)
- Tweaks the MC's backstory speeches to remove any reference to the dead mother and makes Ella the MC's real mom, and Catherine his real sister.
- MC always calls Ella "Mom"
- Slightly increases the amount of familial references
- Fixes a few minor English issues

Obviously with the second patch making the small backstory change, there is a chance the dev can screw it over in the future if the mom's death becomes actually important, (which is why I was a little hesitant to release it before there was actual sexual content with her.) but so far it really feels like she was just fridged to give the MC's dad an excuse for being an asshole, and I guess to avoid another taboo relationship for Patreon purposes?

To install, choose one version or the other and save it in the "game" subfolder of WastelandGuardians. Make sure it saves with the extension ".rpy" and DOES NOT end in ".txt" otherwise it will not work.
And again, the StepRemover patch already contains the same code as the MoreDad patch, so trying to use both together can potentially result in potential errors, so do not download both without deleting one first.

I did have a few people Beta test these so I'm hoping there won't be errors otherwise (although I made a few changes since then to fix some lines I missed in the freeroams). If you run into anything or see a missed line just message me and let me know.

hopeful no anybody reading these patreon post knowing render use GPU and wordprocessor not taxing GPU, is very bold lie to tell.. :censored:
rendering takes a LOT of GPU and memory, and possibly some CPU, and tends to work most efficiently when it is the only thing being done on a computer. depending on what "wordproccesser" dev uses to code game with can potentially starve system of memory or CPU processing? that's how i read dev post
