Hello, dear supporters! Here’s our weekly development update for Chapter 08 of
W2H. I’ve organized this post into sections to make it clear and detailed, sharing progress, reflections, and what you can expect. Let’s dive in!
Weekly Update for Chapter 08 of W2H
Thank you for being part of this amazing journey with me! Today, I want to talk about how Chapter 08 is coming along—it’s shaping up with intense scenes and major plot reveals. While working on the renders, I found myself reflecting on the creative process and the essence of
W2H, especially how I balance the focus between the MC and the other characters who bring this story to life.
Reflections on Development and Past Criticism
Recently, as I was posing some key scenes for Chapter 08—ones that unveil a huge discovery in the plot—I noticed that the MC, our main character, isn’t present at the start of some of them. This is because he’s tied up in a parallel event, which got me thinking about a critique I received years ago, back when
W2H was just getting started.
In Chapter 03, which spotlighted Anabelle, Lily, and Myuki, a player (who wasn’t even a patron) left a harsh comment: “This is a game; it doesn’t make sense to have scenes where my character isn’t present. That’s illogical.” He was pretty rude about it, and at the time, it stuck with me. I kept asking myself, “Is he right?” After a lot of thought, I realized something that still guides my work today.
W2H might be labeled a game, but it’s not your typical video game. It’s an interactive story, a Visual Novel with images and adult content, where the narrative matters just as much as the gameplay. You, my amazing supporters—many of whom have been with me for nearly four years—know this and inspire me to keep telling the story my way.
The MC and Our Secondary Protagonists
Yes, the MC is the main character of
W2H, the central protagonist of the game, and he appears in the majority of the scenes—more than anyone else. Everything in the story ties back to him in some way. But I love giving space to other characters who are also part of the main arc, what I like to call
secondary protagonists. Figures like Carmilla, Anabelle, Lily, Myuki, and even Izabelle get significant screen time, second only to the MC. They’re not just side characters; they’re vital to the story, with their own arcs and importance.
In Chapter 08, this really shines through. While the MC takes on Joshua, the city’s regent, other major events unfold at the same time—like the vampire-versus-werewolf war at Crowley Manor. These moments are crucial, and I include them even if the MC isn’t there right at that instant. But don’t worry: he always shows up when the time is right, following the natural flow of the timeline so he can arrive just when he’s needed. I want the story to feel logical and cohesive.
You’ll see Carmilla and Rebecca in action, Anabelle stepping up, and the Blood Witch, Izabelle, having her own standout moment. The city of Hell is the stage for a massive plot, and I’m committed to showing you everything that’s happening, giving these secondary protagonists the spotlight they deserve while keeping the MC as the heart of it all.
Clarifying the MC’s Role
Some of you might be wondering, “So, the MC won’t be in those scenes?” Not quite! He’s the core of the story and will be in most of the key moments, but everything happens in its own time. The MC can’t be in three places at once, and in this chapter, we’ve got three big events going on, as I’ve mentioned in older posts:
- MC vs. Joshua: A direct showdown with the city’s regent.
- Vampires vs. Werewolves: An explosive battle at Crowley Manor.
- Samantha and Lily Hunting the Russian: A tense side mission.
The MC will tie into these events at the right moment, arriving just in time to shape the outcome, as he always does. With the renders nearly done, I can see the full scope of the story, and let me tell you: Hell has never been more dangerous. The MC and his growing “family” have their work cut out for them, and you’ll see it all unfold in scenes packed with action, intrigue, and jaw-dropping reveals.
Conclusion: A Story Bigger Than One Perspective
I want to make it clear that the MC is the main protagonist, but our secondary protagonists—with their hefty screen time—help build a rich, immersive narrative. I’ll always include important scenes, even if the MC isn’t there at that exact moment, because everything connects in the end. We’re a family—you, me, and these characters—and if something big is happening, whether in Hell or across the world, I’ll show it. The story of
W2H is too vast for just one point of view.
Thank you for your incredible support! I can’t wait to share Chapter 08 with you. Get ready for an intense, thrilling ride!
