Sometimes you have to know how to look at games, not like games, but like a book or movie where you take the view of the bad guy. Here the scenes are interesting and especially I do not think that it is a good end which awaits our character.
Simply, this is not a game for sensitive souls.

If you're going to play this game like any regular porn VN - i.e. a game with a zero-personality protagonist who's nothing but a stand-in for
you, the player - then yes, you are probably going to hate this game.
This game is a horror story more than anything else. The porn aspect is just secondary. The sex scenes are a nice bonus, but the
real story is that
the MC is a jaded psycho who went off the deep end and began murdering women and
the pretty girl who ended up in his cabin is some kind of ghost or undead horror that probably embodies the revenge of all the women he's murdered.
The MC isn't even meant to be sympathetic. Even if you're seeing things through his eyes, you're not actually supposed to relate to him.
No, the way this story is being told is twofold - first, because you're seeing everything through the main character's eyes, you only gradually catch on
just how far gone he is. That, on its own, is already a tried and true way of telling a horror story.
And second, because you're looking at everything through the MC's eyes, you're watching the story unfold through his attempts to make sense of just what's going on with the girl and strange events around his cabin.
On a side note:
the MC is obviously in danger, and he's been in danger ever since he took that girl in. She actually wants to leave - and the MC could probably save himself if only he would let her go. But he doesn't want to do that. And that will almost certainly be his undoing.
Obviously this kind of story isn't everyone's cup of tea. I get that. But as a fairly dark horror story, this one stands up pretty well.
Imo the real reason is he is just not good in English to understand the context that word carries, judging from the amount of Spanish leftover in the English text.
I will Discord him about this if not for the fact he has been inactive for a couple of days.
At least according to the credits, the author (Erkerut) isn't the one who handled the English version; Moon Axolotl is.
I agree on the quality of the translation, though. As you say, the editing was sloppy, with quite a few bits of Spanish showing up in the English version. The quality of the English itself was... passable. At least you don't usually need to re-read sentences in order to get what they're supposed to mean. But, again, like you said; the translator often doesn't get the nuances right.
Erkerut should get a different translator. Moon Axolotl's English just isn't good enough yet.
