The story is interesting, the jokes are actually funny and there's some kind of build up. The Genesis Order has a great animation but the story and the characters are insufferable.

I find amazing how real life can sometimes surpass our worst expectations. One time, around 2018 in /htg/, I jokingly made a prediction about A Wife and a Mother for when the main character was finally going to be nailed for the first time and I don't believe I stretched for 6 fucking years. Even the thought of waiting 3 years was absurd at the time, but here we are... Also Summertime Saga, I don't think the most pessimistic of us thought the Tech Update would take around 4 years to be done when DC announced it (if it comes out some time in 2025).
It wouldn't surprise me if this 99.8% completed update didn't see the light of day in July nor August, but idk, I'm getting jaded.
Tempted to agree, mostly because some girls are just too polarizing. Just looking at the thread here there are clearly a lot of Gomira haters. If they tried to do a major Celestina update I would certainly be hating that wait for real (and not just jokingly the way I give Holly fans a hard time). The only thing worse than waiting for a long update on a game is waiting for a long update you know you won't even enjoy because it's not targeted at you. I think this might be one reason why the Nuts have avoided bringing in certain more "out there" fetishes that people have requested - too much risk of frustrating people who aren't into them.
If I could give them one tip it would be to take a page from political pollsters and poll not only a girl's "favorables" but her "unfavorables" as well and factor that in. For instance, Gomira clearly won a "first past the post" race. But she also has a vocal and diehard population of haters. Maybe going with someone a bit less overtly popular - but also less *unpopular* - would have helped. So I'd suggest to them to change over to ranked choice voting. (Yes, this has been a politics nerd moment, I'm sorry.) This does a better job of approaching a picture of consensus than first past the post, especially in a crowded field. Under ranked choice, voters are maybe a bit less likely to get the thing they want *most*, but they're much MORE likely to at least get something they can tolerate.

I have scoured the internet. Trust me, WAL is unique in its combination of quality art, lovable girls, and wholesome main character. There's nothing else like it, at least in 2D art. That's why it's special. If you don't value those things, fine, I'm not knocking your preferences. Just please don't try to ask for a unique game to be turned into something we already have 50 clones of.

There was a point after the whole discussion between them, right before the start of the sex scene, where the MC said something like 'She said something else but I just didn't register and the next thing I know is that I was naked on the floor.' Devs just rewrote that part, fearing this 'I can't exactly remember how it happened but suddenly we were fucking' could be read as some drug-like side effect of the magic mushroom, and now the MC says 'But I wasn't feeling ill and it seemed I wasn't going to become big again anyway so I said fuck it, let's do it.' I love how people seem to forget plenty of humans fuck without giving actual consent in real life, (atleast not verbally) stuff like the classic being horny touching each other and then bam you're undressing and fucking, nobody said anything, so are they now rapists? Damn, I haven't been here in the thread for ages so I'm surprised to see that people only have bad things to say about WaL nowadays... I still love the game a ton and I want to see it continue but I definitely get the frustration of waiting for ages. It's been almost 2 years and Magicnuts are still cooking. Hopefully the new update is gonna release soon-ish. Maybe Magicnuts should also consider a different approach for the update after Gomira so it won't take this long each time.
does discord have an API so I can scrape all the progress images in the progress thread and do a little graph showing progress over time? cause it'd be depressing as hell
