And their number of subscribers never went beyond 2.3k and currently sits at 1.6k, so that's the max number of persons who could have been actually paying 'for nothing' during the last 28 months in a row (the time actually passed since the last update) -and obviously they are less than that, as every month there's some people coming and going. In the last 12 months they've lost 250 subscribers that never got replaced, and they are currently earning 1.5k less per month than exactly a year ago (or 21% less, if you prefer) and 3.5k less than at their peak (or 36% less). They are now cashing in 6.4k gross per month, which translates into roughly 4k per month at most once you detract Patreon's cut and taxes, and is way less than your claimed 10k unless you're using some obscure currency instead of dollars or euros.

You can still feel the same about it but at least don't try to fool people (and yourself) with false, invented data. Being a developer yourself, that's pretty mean and even counterproductive. Who is gonna believe you if/when you'd need to explain your own shortcomings, if you're proven to have lied in other instances like that?

I'm just saying get your facts right. As a dev, you'll face similar, hyperbolic accussations sooner or later and this kind of baseless posts may backfire if you ever try to defend yourself from those comments. But of course you do you.

But that's not how patreon work. This game is, for now , free and they actualised their patreons with artworks or upgrades of their work. If you want to play the patreon version, you could do it purchasing the tier when it's released, you don't need to continues support them if you don't want to.

That's how it works in my opinion.
Most of games have a public release after the Patreon one, and I was not expecting no new update for the next 2 years.
I'm not paying for previews during 2 whole years.
So yeah, following your last advise, I've already unsubscribed long time ago.

I'm starting to feel that a lot of you want the developers to be scammers who deceive people, and the supporters to be mindless drones who get deceived by the evil developer and keep paying. That way, there's an easy target to pit the frustration and anger on.

But then you're given proof of what's going on. The devs openly admit where they messed up. The people who still support them do so because of they trust that candor, and decide to take the risk. Most importantly, devs do suffer direct consequences for the delay by losing patrons.

But that doesn't feel as satisfying as the "evil dev milks idiot supporter" image you made up in your head, so you just ignore the official statement from the dev's mouth, and the completely valid analysis of their diminishing earnings, and continue with the usual accusations

The fact that they managed to get a steam page up before their vastly delayed episode shows where their priorities lie. That steam release prep should have waited imho.

Putting up the Steam page will backfire, now everyone can trash the devs on a much more visible platform.

We have been saying for literal years in this thread that they should hire some folks and it's good to get confirmation that we were right. Even if they don't want to hire another writer or artist, they could at least hire a production assistant to help keep them on track.
