What can we improve in 3D games?
More devs could buy the assets they use since they're profiting off of them. And to those that do, I applaud them. Also, maybe don't use the same cookie-cutter assets with the default settings and the barest hint of anything remotely resembling actual effort into adjusting them that took four months to do before spewing them out unto the ravenous masses. Have a little pride and display some degree of a work ethic, and show us what can really be done with the assets you're using to develop 3D games with unique and interesting combinations or possibilities. Leave a lasting mark that says that these characters and these backgrounds were made by this developer who knows his or her shit. Ever have that feeling of déjà vu of seeing the exact same character, albeit with a different name, in the exact same environment in a dozen games? I hate that. It can potentially get confusing.

Is anybody here familiar with the erotic story website called "Literotica". I used to read a lot of stories on that site back in days (about 10 years ago). There are a few stories that stuck in my mind and I would like them to be made into games. One of those stories was called "Bareback In My Mom". Long story short: Mom and son fall in love and start living as a husband and wife (dad died few years back). They have kids and when the kids grow up they are told about the family history and they too join their parents as sexual partners. I thought that was pretty hot (and fucked up).

Here is the link if anybody wants to read it:

a bit of a warning though, that I might be remembering it incorrectly, I read it a very long time ago. I have a few other stories in my head too if anybody wants to know.

What about 3D games ? I read lot of "2D" games..

What are the best things about 3D game over "2D" ? What can we improve in 3D games ?
I haven't yet seen a 3D game that has really sold me. Illusion games look nice but they lack gameplay. I also bought Custom Order Maid 3D 2 and while it is decent, the management aspects are really simple. I was hoping for that part to be a bit more involved.

I've seen other attempts at 3D games but they've either gotten nowhere (The Northwood Lair, Sweet Devil Hunter, WildLife) or are just fancy VNs (Insult Order, ASGRA).

It sucks because 3D is more flexible than 2D for things like character clothing, gear, hair, etc, because all that requires drawing/rendering all that separately and then trying to cobble it together at runtime. But I haven't seen a 3D adult game really take advantage of 3D.

just a good ass story where the characters have real personalities and flaws and not your overused perfect boy who get all girls by holding doors and complimenting them twice.
also i think that it's better when sex scene are given more scarcely and as a reward for taking the good choices cause it's force you to actually play and read the story and it reward you for it

Older MC (50+) who knows what he wants and how to get it. Grooms, connives and corrupts the young women around him to get it. I've had enough of walk on water porn for a life time. I'd like an anti-me-too movement game with sexual harassment and blackmail. I don't want to be that guy in real life or do that shit and no one else should either. But I would like to play it in my fake pixelated life. Normal tits and bodies is a bonus. Double bonus round if you make it father daughter incest...heck you even go older female protag doing this stuff and I'd be in.

Top it off with a good character dirven story and hooray!

I want to see a lot of things in games, lol. And this list changes in content and priority from day to day, depending on what game I played last and how I'm feeling at the time.

Currently, I think I'd like to see better and more realistic evolution of MCs throughout games. Example: Any game that has a corruption path and the MC starts out as an awkward and somewhat nervous guy, once progressed enough down the corruption path, the MC should stop being so awkward and nervous when around women. It's annoying to have an MC who's dominated 11 women through a game meet a new girl and be all stuttery and nervous when talking. It doesn't fit.

Conceptually, Custom Order Maid is on the right track. Its why I bought it. Was just let down with the watered down implementation. I like the idea of training maids to improve their attributes, their trade skills and their sex skills and, in turn, that affects how well they work and how well they please the visitors of the resort.

The problem is that the game play is just putting a girl in a slot that either increases stats or generates income and hitting "next" twice, once for the day phase and once for the night phase. You never get the sense that you're growing this from a small hotel to a luxury resort and you never get the sense that you are getting lots of visitors. You just see a generic rating go up depending on the skill levels of your maids and the extensions you've built.

IMO, even if in 2D, they should have represented the resort as a map with icons representing where your maids are and where clients are located. The day and the night phases would be broken up into sub-turns where you can see your clients coming in (as well as their type) and observe them going around eating at the restaurant, gambling at the casino, relaxing in the spa and courting the public maids. You might even see how much money they have and how much they're spending per sub-phase to give you an idea of what types of attractions and what types of maids different clients like so that you can shape your resort for a specific clientele. And again, this could be simple 2D icons on a 2D map representing your resort. You don't have to go crazy with the assets.

Also, your maids don't get tired (outside of a very weak exhaustion after an overextended yotogi session) or have their own needs so you can abuse them and min/max to your hearts content. I think it would have made you feel more like a manager if you had to balance your maid's skills, needs and wants against your income, growth and your clientele's needs. But outside of a few hidden things you need to know to trigger certain events, the gameplay is absolutely mindless and not challenging or engaging. The sex is decent though and one of the better looking 3D anime titles IMO but I was disappointed overall.

Rumors say the GP03 update (easily a year+ away from being ported to the US) is supposed to add more elements of clients visiting the resort but I fear it will just be more tacked on menus. The entire game feels like a really convoluted menu on top of a very average visual novel. The dancing mini-game is alright.

As for other games, it depends on their genre (action, strategy, RPG, w/e). I just wish the sex scenes in most H games had gameplay repercussions. Combat has you consume resources and items, gain EXP, etc. Sex scenes tend to live in a bubble and don't really have much interaction going in or implications going out. They don't have to mirror combat but I wish there was more to it than what we normally get. The fact that most games offer a "gallery" of events that can be rewatched in a silo speaks to how removed they are from the actual game mechanics.

Bifrost is a good example of good management system.
I think the depth comes from the clients that come with their own needs and traits that need to be matched.
The Debt also pushes you to become more efficient with your actions.
The older Custom Reido games had this kind of mechanics.

But the problem I see is the focus on the customization is incompatible with matching clients as you need the limitations to make it work.

Yes but the question still remains on How?
How would you make a Dating Sim with Depth?
How would you integrate Sex in a Strategy Game?

Realistic Story and believable Characters. Too many Games are just badly written and the Characters make weird unbelievable decisions.
Not exactly Realistic story, but Long story short told - MC is being controlled by some kind of power, doesn't realise what she does, and everything she does is even weird for her, because she is questioning herself "it's not me, why am I doing this? that is so not me" . Other people label her weird person, because everything she does is unreal and not what average person does. So if other characters have some weird habits, all of that is later explained in game why. For example :
1. character which constantly reads books.
2. character which constantly is excersizing.
3. character which is constantly horny. She is labeled as a pervert, everyone got used to it, don't pay much attention to it.
4. MC which is controlled by some kind of power.
5. bully type girl, but she has trauma, and she is trying to hide her weaknesses through bullying others.
6. Serious type, looks everything logically and taking everything seriously. She is labeling everyone as idiots or weirdos.
7. Character which is only searching for holes.
8. Gamers / Otakus.

The customization in COM should not deter from this. Maids have personalities, ages, skills, attributes, levels, sexual experience counters, and fetishes they develop. They can make client matching based on those elements so that you can still customize the visuals the way you want to suit your personal preferences. Client comes in looking for a X+ or older Majime type with Elegance of Y+, Massage skill of Z+ and Cum fetish to have sexy times in the Spa. They can make it so that the more of those you match, the more the client tips. Finicky clients might need a minimum of those requirements met or they leave. You can leave looks completely out of the picture.

Sex and adult content are themes, not genres. So you make adult games with depth the same way you would make non-adult games with depth. It's not an easy answer as not all non-adult games have depth but it should be no more different with adult games.

As for incorporating sex into different genres, I don't think it should be that hard. Though, like with horror games, certain genres might lend themselves better to sexual themes than others.

In an RTS, you can have armies lead by hero/general units and there can be sexy times with allied hero units between battles to strengthen their bonds which could confer bonuses. Or maybe defeating an enemy hero unit results in a post-battle gangbang as your foot soldiers reap the rewards of their conquest. That can also confer its own benefits. Hell, you can turn that post-battle gangbang into a mini-game where you direct your soldiers as you taunt, tease or intimidate the captured enemy. You can either try to find out what makes them tick until they submit to your side or you can try to break them to increase the morale of your troops an decrease the morale of your enemies in the next battle.

I can think of a million ways to integrate sex *with* gameplay implications into just about any game. The problem is that programming this is a lot of work, which is probably why people don't do it. But then I see the work bigger shops do with games like COM and I'm disappointed by the fact that they get soooooo close but don't quite make it into engaging/meaningful territory.

I would love to see a Dungeon Keeper style game with strong sexual content. You don't have to think too hard to integrate sex into this. Captured adventurers can be thrown into BDSM chambers to coax them into submission, corrupt them and have them join your side. Incubi and succubi units can "CC" adventurers by luring them into a separate room or pocket dimension for sexy times, temporarily decreasing the size and effectiveness of the raiding party. Or you can send captured adventurers to the different creature lairs to act as breeders or entertainment. The God POV would give you a great view of the dungeon. Maybe you get a special unit that acts as a personal avatar. Instead of destroying the dungeon core, raiding parties win when they defeat the avatar then *they* get to have sexy times. After they are done, they steal gold/loot/gear from your dungeon as their reward and go on their way. Maybe you get a gameover after a certain amount of defeats or other combination of conditions.

Sorry, just spit-balling but I don't find it particularly difficult to think of ways to incorporate sex into existing games.

There are already a couple of good japanese ones, Demonion 1-2, Venus Blood Abyss, some Softhouse Chara games, maybe some others.

The reason I am asking is because I am working on a project that is a little bit tricky.
There has never been a system where you socially interact with NPCs in a procedural way that has been that good.
I am looking at games like Rai 7 and even with its potential for a space opera in a strategy game,a Crusader Kings in Space.
The interactions with the NPCs are so basic that it has no charm.
So that's why I am looking for good mechanics for Dating Sims.

But to give you an idea how my game works. You have Mafia/Werewolf style faction game or Space Station 13, where there is a Cult against the Good Mages in a school setting, think Bible Black. Cult causes (sexual)corruption in the students and you have to investigate who are the members of the cult are and protect the students from being corrupted and recruited into the cult. The students that are recruited to either faction and magically initiated can also get unique magical power for that character that can be used on a targets in a time slot, and you gain mana through sex, which might make them vulnerable to cult corruption abilities which is their own magic powers, so there is a bit of strategy going on on when you attack and defend and against who.

The problem is the Game is meant to be Replayable so I can't use normal written scripts that much.
I am also hoping for a normal Dating Sim style relationship building mechanics with the characters until they get "Recruited", and even convert existing Cult members through that relationships in a kind of love conquers all style thing.

That is without a doubt true, how about taking an approach similar to Persona 5s confidants? By the sound of things something
in that vein might be a pretty good fit.

Now this sounds really nice since way too often its just either get corrupted or stay pure, which tends to be far to static.

Persona 5 is a written story, even if the scripts are a bit modular and you can chose a bit.
What I want is something more procedural with replayability in mind.
My plan is for the game to be pretty short about 40 min to 1 hour maybe 2 at the max, but in exchange I want it to be replayable.
The idea is when I am releasing updates I want the game to become more sophisticated over time and replay it again on update. With more content, new characters and mechanics that makes it sufficiently different on at least each update playthrough.

I wouldn't be able to do that if it had conventionally written scripts, I am leaning more towards the gameplay thus looking for more procedural/systemic social interactions.

Now this sounds really nice since way too often its just either get corrupted or stay pure, which tends to be far to static.
Both factions require Sex for Mana to power spells. The Cult Corruption is more twisted, fetishistic, degenerate and representing chaos and perversion while the Mages are more vanilla, love relationships and representing order and morals. Like in terms of a Good Love End.
The game would also have a number of Endings depending on the victory conditions achieved, so that fits right in.

a game that is unapologetic and kills off it's characters when it's necessary and meaningful, and DOESN"T take it back, doesn't try to revive them.

a game where you don't just have some flaky part time position, and either have to thieve/hurt/kill to get money, or get a real job.

a game where money IS indeed the answer to pretty much everything.

a game that has a point other than "BOOBS!" or "SOCIOPOLITICS!"

a game that is modern and actually realistic and gritty.

a game where magic comes from sources darker than the black of night who want nothing more than to destroy, invert, and pervert every part of existence, usually and most notably the player character (e.g. re:zero/ultramarines)

a game developed by a native english speaker/actual writer

a game that puts much larger stakes in front of it's player character than just high school level drama.

a game that isn't DAZ3d cgi.

I think that such a game can be created, and is what i'm working towards with cor tenebrae. it's not easy, but that doesn't mean it isn't fuckin worth it.

- A cyberpunk, steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy or post-apocalyptic setting. Basically anything that isn't boring present day stuff.
- More lesbian games. No males in sex scenes, no transformation shit, no performances for a male character. Best add some bdsm with a hot milf as sub.
- Characters deserving being called characters. They don't need to have as complex motivations as characters from regular games, but they should have at least a hint of personality.
-If you can't help including a male protagonist, make him at least a bad ass and neither a teenage wimp nor a creepy grandpa. And FFS make him taller than his mom.
- More character customization.
- Lingerie and dress-up options. More sexy and less realistic stuff.
